XDCAM HD music video

Hi all,

In case anyone is interested (...)
Of course, there is! :dankk2: Simon for posting!

I have now posted up an online version of the music video I shot while testing out the PDW-F330 for Showreel Magazine. I'm afraid I haven't conformed a high def version of the edit yet. Just waiting for software that can take the MXF files!

Anyway, here it is. Shot in a day, so a bit of a race against time.

Actually I had already seen out there, as well, the behind the scenes' photos where it's possible to follow your professional work. LINK

I was waiting for it since you said that it would be possible to watch from your own hands (eyes) the [first ever -- really as such and not as test sample(s)] XDCAM-HD footage after its March launch.

Congrats!

EDIT -- I didn't yet seen @another one display but only @CRT PC's monitor. And it goes very well. Now I'd like to compare with a 1280x800 TFT and also @DLP_projection. All that I could see before (Michael Devlin's stuff) it's very videoish. Maybe with the RED, SI/Cineform & Color Space announcements, the enthusiasm will drop but anyway...

...PDW-F3xx series will always be a killer camera. Specially to this kind of media convergence products.

We'll be waiting for more posting. Go ahead and good luck! You're welcome!

Simon, is there any chance to post a higher resolution version even@720p?

Thank you very much.

:dankk2: Simon!

Can you also add a 720p version? (unfortunately my laptop is far away from any 1080p version)

Simon,

Nice looking - very sharp, crisp images there. Was this shot 23.98?

I'm having a hard time keeping the cameras straight now - even having recently shot for TLC on XDCamHD 350s, it's a task sorting the 350 from the 330 from the 530 and 510.

The more I read, the worse it gets.

:embarasse

At any rate, good show. Nice to see something aside from 1080i reality from one of these systems.

Mmmm i am interested in XDcam. I have an editing system that can edit it. Possibly i will rent for future projects.

The Fox news station I work for will be using this camera. We're supposed to get them in May. I'm hoping I can rent one from the production dept. for my film I'm shooting this summer.

There is a great myth about all of this that both Sony and Panasonic exploit. A lot of companies such as Fox actually use both systems. Thats why we get so many conflicting press reports from either company. I prefer to just hear it from the people over at B-Roll who actually work for these stations. Their usual response after press releases is something along the lines of "Then why do they still make me use this battered up old Betacam then?!" ;-)

The fact of the matter is that the Panasonic P2 lineup makes a better choice for networks like Fox, ABC and ESPN because Panasonic offers native support for the 720p format. However Sony is introducing multiformat XDCAM HD cameras later this year in order to capture the 720p broadcast market. While the codec of XDCAM is not quite as good as the 100 megabit per second DVC ProHD format Sony is upping the quality of its XDCAM codec to 50 megabits so its going to be a lot tougher to tell the difference.
