Short Wrapped

The stills looked good. A couple of them had some lighting issues but for the most part they looked really good. What I meant by lighting issues was that some of them looked like they were shot in the day inside but were way under lit.

Grabs look very filmic. Lighting looked fine to me, but the proof will be in the moving image not the still. Post a clip!

Very nice! Some of those shots have awesome rich colors!

Anyway you can post larger frames like 720x1280?

Good looking stuff, but second vote on Pappas request for full rez frames because I would like to see how good the M2 holds up a 720p. To make PAL resolution look good is easy.

Thanks a lot.

This is really a matter of taste. I prefer the subtle look of the original image --- much more natural to my eye. Your correction looks obviously (or over-) lit. Of course, this is just a personal preference.

I agree with darwinandpaine. The grabs aren't too dark, they're moody. Feels intentional. IMO Vincent Price's color correction sucked out the atmospheric feel of the scene.

That was the style he choose to shoot. Nothing wrong with a moody look either.

Can we get 1280x720 pics?

That's what I (as an Italian Filmmaker) call a moody look. It's a small (sorry, I don't have the dvd of the movie) grab from The Battle of Algiers (Directed by Gillo Pontecorvo, the Director of Photography was "my master & friend" Marcello Gatti).

I don't know about you guys, but I'm finding that one of the big challenges with the HVX is refraining from "over-lighting" --- you know what I'm talking about --- that four-camera sitcom look. First, this camera looks great with a lot of light, and it holds the high end so well (not to mention the color). Second, it's so easy to see the noise in that 20-30 IRE and want to fill it in with more light. Anyone feel the same?

P.S.: Please let's not turn this into another noise thread --- I'm just saying, I've been tempted to use too much light.
