Can the "indifocus beta" be set up to work with geared lenses? Are there any problems with it?

Yes it can be setup to work with geared lenses- I assume that you're wondering about 35mm lenses. The beat unit does not come with that adapter, but it is sold at the indifocus website. The rubber wheel comes off and is replaced with a gear to turn the lens.

There are no "problems" with it. It is in great shape- it is the beta unit however. The production model that is now sold has additional refinements made to it and is in matte black. You can read a review of it that I did on my web site, under the review section- http://www.235studios.com

Still interested in the follow focus. What are the differences between this and the "production unit" and how much would it cost me to get a geared ring on it?

Thanks bunches,

-Matt

I'm not sure what the charge is for the geared ring. It is an add on you can get for the indifocus, but I did not see a price listed on the web site. You might contact them directly to see what the additional cost would be. http://www.indifocus.com/contact.html

As for the differences between the beta model and the production unit you can read my review at: http://www.235studios.com/reviews/235indiFOCUSReview.pdf

The short list is-
beta unit silver in color, Prod. is black
beta unit does not include hard stops, Prod. does.
beta unit has a thick metal wire to use to mark / hit focus points, Prod. has a thick metal post
beta unit tightening screw is square in shape (The head), Prod. is circular.

Hope that helps.

What an awesome setup and a great price....I wish you weren't selling this until a few months from now when I'll have some money :crybaby:

Good luck selling it....it's a great deal!

By the way, were either of these cameras used in the filming of PANDORA?

If there is no one esle interested in the DVX or the FS-4 I will be moving this sale to e-bay.

Please contact me via either PM or posting on this thread by tomorrow, no later then 8 pm PST- (05/06/2006 @ 8 pm PST).

The DVX has NOT been posted on ebay yet. If you can have the money by Mon. / Tues. I can hold off on listing it on ebay until then.

The DVX goes to the first person who can pay me. I'll not list it on ebay until tuesday.

BTW- I have found Barry's DVX Book and DVD, and will be including it with the camera. (it was in a file cabnet. So it is in good shape.)

Cool! Let me know if you want half down. I could do that right away, or, I can make payment as soon as the transfer is complete. What payment method do you prefer? Thanks!
