Post some Uncompressed HVX footage

Hey, I am thinking about getting an HVX, however, I am curious to see what some uncomp footage looks like from it. I have browsed through a great deal of really nice looking clips on the site, but I really just want to see what fully uncompressed footage looks like (i.e. for grain, color rendition, aliasing, and DOF)

Anyway, just curious if anyone could post 10-15 seconds of some fully uncompressed footage. :)

Uncompressed or DVCProHD?

Best bet is to ask for some DVCProHD footage, as uncompressed would be quite large. DVCproHD is camera native (what the camera shoots) There are some cilps posted around here, it's just a little hard to find quickly.

We will have some DVCPRO HD, Photojpeg & WMV-HD samples posted next week. The format coming from the HVX and P2 card is .mxf. Final Cut Pro unwraps that and produces a DVCPRO HD QuickTime File. On the PC side Edius can edit directly from the
.mxf. I don't have Avid Xpress so I am not sure what format it produces. Raylight is another piece of software that uses the .mxf files and creates a reference .avi. I will experiment with Raylight and see how big an uncompressed file is.

Avid edits native MXFs (for the life of me I don't know why no one appears to realize this). Avid has had the option to use MXF as it's default media since 4.6. Any HD project one creates is in MXF format no matter what it origionated on (as opposed to OMF). All one has to do in Avid is move the files into the media directory and select them using the media tool. No converting. No extracting. Just working with the native files.

Brother, I was going to throw up some full res DVCPRO files and even 15 seconds is almost 150 megs.

Also people just hate Avid so even though it has a name and a status from eons ago.. kind of like the pink elephant in the room..let's just not talk about it and maybe it will
leave eating all the peanuts.... JK

some DVCProHD footage would be great. I just want to see what native footage looks like from the cam. I have used the XL H1 and worked with uncompressed footage from that and it looks great, but I am really into the ability to use various frame rates with the HVX and thats pretty much what sells me on getting it rather than the H1.

I don't see why other companies dont embrace using multiple frame rates like the HVX because that just adds huge production quality potential over the other cams.

Ya know what might be cool... would be to get a DVD that way you couuld have a whole card. Send me a PM and I'd send you a DVD.

Always happy to help someone jump on board. I personally would like to shoot with the Canon as I've shot with the other HD cams... but I simply don't know a single person who has bought one.. and neither does the local broadcast sales guy. That camera just isn't going to be a big seller for a number of reasons.
