orders to spain take at least 1 and 1/2 weeks just for shipping. be sure to let me know if you want any certain value amount declared on your kit when shipping. if your country charges import customs it would make a difference in the customs they charge you.
Thanks Neil, I use to buy in U.S.A. and never had problems.
I don´t know if with 335$ my country charges some to me... Do you know?
Someone knows?
..as far as transporting short track sections, I use a large tripod/lightstand case. but generally i use longer sections of track for quicker long run setup ..no case for them.
we ship through the U.S. postal servace via priority mail service.
Hey Neil, first of all, thanks for the FANTASTIC quality dolly kit.
I used to make dollies myself, and I know the difference! ))
Transporting the 5' track sections: snowboard bag. I ordered one that is 70" long and 18" wide, padded, with internal straps. I'm quite sure it'll be good for the purpose. Credit goes to Chainsmoker from thsi forum, it's his idea - thanks again, man.
Did a shoot last week with one of thses on Chapman track. The setup was NOISY and bumpy (squeaky sound all over the dialogue!), but we switched over to PVC and it could not have been smoother! No clue why the Chapman track did not play well (likely could have used some Pledge or WD-40), but hey, PVC is cheaper and easier to transport anyhow! We even stuck a fully extended EzFX jib on the thing with zero problems!
After that I've gotta have my own, so I just submitted an order for the 32 wheel kit. If I could get this thing within the next three weeks I'd be ever so grateful!
I will be building probably fifty feet of track... are the connectors easy to come by at Home Depot/Lowes?
i know that very feeling of anticipation. ..everything this month has been shipping out in apx 2 weeks since weve been busy shooting a big project. it should go out in the next few days though. by the end of next week were looking to have advance stock built up again.
According to the specs the wheels will accept up to approx. 1 1/2" rails. What I have here are 40 mm aluminium rails. That's a little over 1 1/2", 1.5748" to be exact. Do you think that this will work?
Should be fine on that rail size. They'll ride a 2" rail, but i dont reccommend it as it just gets less secure as you go up because the wheels are not locked around the rail as much. The best sizes would be somewhere inbetween 1 - 1+1/2"
Hey Neil, I know I just ordered my kit a few days ago, but could you let me know when they're sent out if you happen to have the time/chance The order was under "Angela MacIntyre". Thanks! Can't wait to get them, already did up my platform
