Ok. Just now did I get a word from the shop I bought my Sempron 64 and Asus K8N board from, and they will take it back with no fee for me.
So I think it's time to think of a Pentium based system, that seems to run better with Avid than Amd's.
The dilemma now is what mobo to go for. Intel would be my first choice, but all their best boards only attend one pair of IDE devices. They seem to be designed for SATA HD drives, leaving the IDE interface for the DVD/CD devices.
What other mobo brands and models have worked or are working fine with Avid Xpress (preferably HD) editing layout?
Please don't be shy and tell what is working for you.
