Ok so i did this 30 second clip today. I heard this song on the radio this morning and i liked it so i decided to do a short piece on it. I shot this in like 3 hours not including set up. In total i had 20 min. of footage. I know some of the shots look very "videoish" because i planned on making it slow motion so therefore i shot in 60i. Comments are greatly appreciated.

I like it. The lip sync was pretty good. Some of the "moves" seemed like they could be sync'd up better to the beat. I liked the look.

yea i used a fog machine for some of the shots but i didnt really like it- it looked too hazy- but on this shot i put it in cause its just flowing over the subject. other feedback would be greatly appreciated.

The dance was a bit comical? I was going for an "artsy" feel. I only had a tripod and a steady cam device.

Could be worked on a lot more...Some shots you see the edges of the white background. I think you could take it even further (since you're working with a solid backdrop) and maybe add some after effects, or some 3D stroke in there or something...give it some "pop" or texture.

I use combustion. Do you know any books that help out with using particles and maybe even 3d strokes.

great start, but lacked direction

great start, but lacked direction

I thought you orignal artsy idea came through but you didnt take it anywhere.
as with most short pieces I see, there was no direction , no journey, jmho.
I was thnking some colored lighting as it got goin then a new location then back again then a finish that winds down.
nice song

I completelt agree. It doesnt go anywhere. It wasnt really supposed to. It was just a short that i did in a couple hours including editing. It deffinetly could use more "effect." I was thinking about adding particles but i was doing it and it became to hard. Does anyone want to try adding some 3d strokes or even particles or anything that'll give it a boost. Tell me, i'll be glad to send it to you. I wanna see what other people would do to it. Thanks.

I liked the look of it and the composition. I think you have the skills, you just need to get some more serious content/actors and actually make something other than a test. What is the artist/name of that song? thanks

Well hopefully when i graduate high school I will go to some type of film school. This is a rather new song i think its becoming popular now. It's called "Whered you go" by Fort Minor. More feedback is greatly appreciated.

any time people are trying to go for the "artsy" idea, i think it rarely works out. Creating something which then people judge as artsy is diffrent than trying to force the idea of it being "artsy"
that said.... i think the last shot was really nice. I feel the girl lip sync over emphasisd the words, they matched up, but didn't have the same emotion.

hey good job, man. I liked the close ups a lot, very well done. Her make up is pretty tight too, not too much, just right, so the close up shots came in pretty expressively. There were just a few camera jerks that didn't do it for me, specially one in a close up shot, ironically. But overall, me gives you a 10. Great work. Is there anymore or that's all you shot?

Some of the shots may have been jerky because i use a handheld steadicam device. A 10..WOOW!! We shot about 20 minutes worth but i think it will be very repetitive. Thanks for the feedback, it really helps. Keep it coming.
