For those who don't know, Peter Green replaced Eric Clapton in John Mayall's Blues Breakers before forming his own blues group: Fleetwood Mac. As an interesting side note, Green is the composer of "Black Magic Woman."
i'll have to check it out. Gary Moore, i've only heard a few of his songs to which i loved, i also loved Green's rendition of Richie Valense haunting guitar solo.....i forgot the name of the song!

I saw him at the Greek on the same ticket as Bonnie Raitt. I love his version of "Diving Duck Blues".

Lot's of folklore on Robert Johnson, but I believe he died of pneumonia. I will research this later when I get home.

the best concert i had been to by far was the LONG BEACH BLUES FESTIVAL with my mentor of the blues, my big brother. allman brothers, robert cray, charley musselwhite, etta james, george thoragood, bo diddly and billy boy arnold, rod piazza and a harmonica jam that was unbelievable, bobby womack, staple singers but pop got sick and they couldn't show then he died shortly after rip pop staples, man 3 days drinking the blues. now they only have 2 days

i always love SRV, but lately i've been liking John Mayer Trio's "TRY!" album.... amazing stuff on there.

hey Blaine i saw Taj Mahal at ....oh man i forgot the bar in encinitas san diego where they have the mini concerts..anybody anybody, well anyways i was in the back on the outside porch with a friend who knew him and we had a smoke with him. the mans hands were twice the size of mine, kool laid back kat

that name sounds familiar? hey we should get a group together to catch a show somewhere.
I think the next time he's playing SoCal is in San Diego, June 6th. Someplace called Humphrey's Backstage Lounge & Music Club. Nothing else on the radar except in Vegas.

wow why don't i know this man! i just read his bio. great roots! thanks Blaine. this is great ! you guys are bringing up names i never heard of and i thought i knew everything about the blues scene!

Sorry I'm late to the party...

SRV has been mentioned numerous times, but I gotta say, I saw this man live in an outdoor amphitheater setting in 1987 and it was incredible. One of the best concerts ever.
