I've just got home from a very long flight, but thanks to jet lag I'll be up for ages still! What an incredible week this was!
First off, my big big news for me.
Some of you may have noticed the change in my signature allready...
At NAB a dream finally came true for me, I parted with well over $20k and I bought a Steadicam Archer!
(obligatory) WOOHOOO!!!!
My baby arrives in about a month, and I am stoaked!
rogar-BigGrin(DBG)
I also picked up myself a Merlin from the show, so I have something to play with in the mean time while waiting for the big rig, and to help me answer everyone's questions about it. (yeah yeah, I'll post some fotage)
Also extremly exciting, and rather unbelivable, I parted with one famous rig...
I sold the Steadicam Player (my Lego rig) pictured by TC here: http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=54710&page=5 to Garrett Brown and The Tiffen Company! It will be going on display in the 'Steadicam Museum' at the Steadicam Factory in LA shortly!
The Steadicam Player sale. Garret Brown, Frank Rush Jerry Holway, Mikko Wilson.
I had the pleasure of meeting many of you at NAB, which totally rocked.
I attended the DVXuser party both Monday and Tuesday night. - Of course Tuesday was cancelled, but Jarred was EXTREMELY cool and gave me a ride back out to my hotel.
...However he then extended his magical power that keeps us all captive here on the forum and tried to kidnap me. No really! He claims it's an accident, but I think it was a trap. His passenger door just mystically jammed trapping me inside!
... of course, what would any good DVXuser story be without a couple of pictures? (oh you KNEW this was coming Jarred...)
Jarred confirming that I was never to leave his car, nor the forum.
Jarred taking a couple of whacks at the door with a hammer to get it open!
But alas, we did get the door open, and I escaped to my hotel (though am still held captive here on DVXuser indefinatly). Seriously though, Jarred, and all the other members I met are all extremly cool people. I am honord to call you my friends.
Overall the whole show was awsome, and I can't wait to attend the next one! Whew, what a week!
