A few screen grabs from my first wedding...

I shot my first wedding last Saturday night. Three hours worth of footage. DVX100b, 24pA. No color correction done on these clips yet. I'm very happy with the results so far.

Grandparents of the bride
Father of the bride
My wife sticking her finger in the cake
The flower girl and her uncle (I believe)
Father of the bride laughing
Kissy kissy
Bubbles!
Friends eating and laughing

What do you guys think for my first wedding?

Edit: Shot in 4x3, plan on letterboxing in post (just in case my framing is off).

Yes Gary. Your wife is quite attractive. Can't wait to see footage though. Just from the grabs it looks like you did a good job of capturing emotions w/good CUs. (Something I'm working on.)

Holy llama!
Those grabs look like they're from a SLR camera and the colors look like something to work with for sure!
The shot of 'friends eating and laughing' how did you get such a shallow depth on that?

yeah yeah....hot wife....but what about that CAKE!!!
I am going by the bakery on my way home.
Maybe I'll DVX the bakery!

cake.......mmmmmmmm

Wow! Had no idea this thread was still going. Hi guys! Thanks for the kind comments.

So how did I get a nice shallow depth of field? Simple. I just placed the camera as far away as possible and zoomed in a lot. :)

Anyway, editing has been on haitus for this project so that's why I haven't shown any footage. Since shooting that footage I've shot a corporate project, a short film, and I'm shooting another wedding tomorrow. So yeah, things have been pretty busy for me lately. But it's been good and I've actually had paying work so yay.

Within the next week or two I'll have a demo reel of my weddings, corporate video, and short films... All shot with the DVX of course!

And of course, the future looks pretty bright. I'll be shooting another wedding, a music video, and a home show that will actually be on TV (a Fox affiliate). Oh yeah, and I've got another short film I'll be starting in the next month too. So yeah, I'm busy... :)

Once again, thanks for all the kind words. Yes, I agree, my wife is a total hottie but you guys can't have her.

Footage is coming soon guys. I promise. Thanks for the patience! :)
