i insert p2 card into powerbook and transfer files to my firewire drive. i try to delete files but am not able to w/ the lastclip.txt file since it is locked. tried option+delete w/ no luck. just wondering how others are able to delete this file? thanks.

thanks evo. transferred test footage into my firewire drive and wanted to delete that file.

make sure that .txt file is in your Contents folder for that card. If not it is difficult for fcp to find. i learned the hard way. we just force deleted the contents folder from within the powerbook and kept the .txt file.

I'm finding that not only is LASTCLIP.TXT locked, but every file is locked! Any way of just unlocking everything at once?

on the PC side, I just make the directory a shared one, so you can move the files or delete them.

Delete lock files on the Mac without unlocking them by first making sure they are in a folder, move folder into trash. Hold the option key down when you select "Empty Trash". If you are doing this from a P2 card, you'll have to do the "get info" and click the unlock check box for the .txt file before moving both the Contents folder and the .txt file to the trash. Then hold option key down when you select empty trash.
