Hey this is a second edit of my video of the Open, currently I'm pretty happy with it overall but I think some parts could be tweaked, as well as the fact that it needs an intro and credits. Let me know what you guys think! Thanks.

Pretty cool, although a bunch of the shots in the beginning had that characteristic 'video' feel with the overblown white of the snow. Not sure how avoidable that is. I'm also not quite sure what the purpose was of compositing the action shots of the man walking across the quarterpipe scene while the boarders behind him come and go. That could possibly have been done with better CCing -- the snow changes color with every splice (sometimes in the shade, sometimes in the sun).

However, once the music sped up in the middle (during the timelapse shots), the piece looked a lot better as a whole. The best shots are the quarterpipe runs after dark, and the full-speed halfpipe action shots, although you probably know that already :)

What wideangle lens did you use for the shot with the girls in the red Honda?

On the whole, nice work... Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the comment, I used the .6x Century. In the shot of the guy walking, I kind of liked the changing of the entire shot becauses the snowboarders were so small, although I can understand the dislike of the whole thing changing somewhat without being a clean cut. :)

I guess a little backstory would help: this video represents the experience my friends and I had while filming the Open, we had expected it to be some amazing thing and it turned out to be a lot of waiting, a lot of cold standing around down-time, and then some fun... I guess that's the way to put it? I think if I can convey that with an intro, it may make the quality and shot choice more understandable? If not, have any suggestions? Thanks again! :)

Haha no, that was my friend shooting pictures... I was wearing my banana suit.

When you start watching the video you feel like your never going to see any real snowboarding action. It drags on like a never ending intro. I think the slow-mo and the sped up stuff was overused and the slow-mo was really choppy, try shooting 30p at 120 for a clean 80% slowdown.

I did like the longshot of the pipe in the beginning and the last shots of the quarterpipe at night

Yeah, the video is less about the snowboarding as it is about the process I guess. I suppose the title may be misleading. I wasn't really interested in just a montage of snowboarding, NBC took care of that I'm sure. I had only had my DVX for a week at the time so I wasn't really too comfortable with it and shot everything in 24PA, I'll definitely try 30p and other settings next time! Thanks for the comment.
