Seth Desade's - | Music VIDEO |

Thank you Slimothy , I'm using Adobe Premiere pro 1.5 + magic bullet. I dont know why Adobe, added at lease twice the amount a strobbing then my original footage, it's kinda of annoying. I hear other people had that prob.

haha ya, well I worked arround it , adding filters to make it look like I wanted it lol. 8mm style, BUT I dont want it to happen when I'm going to be taping something I need to have super clean.

I take it CC stands for Color Correction ? And yes I did, the initlial footage looked too much like Video, I have to get working on Lighting. We should have a thread for random tips from people who's made music videos. (there's probably already one out there lol)

This wasn't working past the first few seconds for me yesterday, so I tried it again. I liked the video a lot and I liked the song. The only thing that bothered me was that the blurry screen door effect lasted so long, and that there was hardly any shots where you could see more than the singers mouth. I liked the look of it and the lighting was really cool.

I also only get to see about a minute of it, and I've tried a few times. From what I see, it looks great. Agreed that the "screen door" effect is seen a lot... too much in my opinion, but that's really your decision.

Also interested in the CC (color correction). Was that just one magic bullet "look" on there? if not, which one's were used? Any CC by hand? What is the "screen door effect"... a default in Premiere?

The reason I ask, is cause it DOES look very 8mm/film like, and when you said it looked too "video-ish", I know what you mean. It's tough to achieve the "film" look totally in post, and I just got a bunch of footage that someone wants me to edit that really doesn't look so great (videoesque to the max).

I'll check back later to see if I have the ability to see the entire video... but from what I saw, it looks really good.

P.S. don't be ashamed of posting music video's. Yeah, there's a lot of them, but there are also a LOT of people that are interested in them... myself included.

Let me just say that that was a top shelf music video. A+. It swam in Originality. It made the the musician seem larger than life. Visuals fit the the content. Lighting was dark and moody which made you watch closely to hopefully catch a glimpse just so you could be scared away. Kind of like hearing a monster but not running until you seen the monster. Very good! Odd angles,Weird lighting,Bizarre focus = great music video.

Oh and I only watch rap music videos so thats how good this was. I didn't turn it off.

Thanks guys, the feedback is great :D. sooo.. for you guys who can only see a minute of it, it's probably cause your on the main page of the site. I put a one minute sample there, you have to click on the button that Says "Seth Desade" lower on that page (hopefully that works :P).

For the CC, I used alot of Magic Bullet for color and grain and flickering, but I think shooting through something makes it looks less digital and more interesting. The part where he's infront of the screen door, we had a little square of sreen material in front of the Camera and I was changing the focus in and out. The screen wasn't as much an effect , it was more meant to be a part of the shot (hence why it's there the whole time).

I tried using as much distortion I could during the production, like one scene was shot entirely through a vanity mirror.

I'm really inspired by Floria Sigismondi, she's DA shi* lol. check out her site at http://www.floriasigismondi.com/. She use to shoot alot through objects like a mirror, a refelction , or dirty glass. Which in a way makes your footage look more like film because its less clean (depends what look your going for though :P)

Here are some before and after examples:
