After 3.5 years owning a Canon XM2 and holding out on upgrading cause I couldn't really justify it, I now sit here in my office at work looking at my sexy new DVX102BEN (PAL version), waiting for that battery to charge!

I know the DVX is old now, but man I am happy. What amazed me immediately is how this thing looks. Very nice compared to my Mattel looking XM2. Solid feeling and quite hefty looking but still lighter than I thought it'd be. (As a side note, I saw the HVX when I was in the store....THAT THING IS MASSIVE!)

I scored a pretty good deal too. In NZ a DVX102B is about $4400. I paid that but got 5 tapes, UV filter, Rain cover, Kata bag and another battery (D54 size) in a special deal.

Well can't wait to get shooting with this, both to fiddle and to make something decent.

Thanks to this community for everything it's given me to date and will continue to give me now I can make use of the DVX info here!

Congrats! And just in time for your required 540th post video entry. You read the rules right? For your 540th post you must submit a short video.

You're in NZ? You could shoot some of those huge crazy possums you have down there.

Haha. The buggers are only around at night, so that'd be hard to do. Same with our national bird, the Kiwi.

I'm sure I'll find something to shoot!

The unfortunate thing is when I try to explain to my wife and friends about the Mojo and how amazing it is, they just stare at me, wondering if they should call the happy van..
