The Reverend
Hey Guys, Been on a couple day shoot out in zion national park. We used a car rig and the Camtram Dolly System. We shot using the DVX but I know there was some talk here about the Camtram system so I thought I would post some pics. Sorry for the size I'm not at my computer where I can edit the pics.

So there some pics. I love that dolly you can put it anywear and you don't have to use a ladder you can use any kind of track or even a table. Works grate and is small.:Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

Man that thing looks sweet and so does the car mount. Got a website and a price for that setup? What does it come with? Would it work with PVC track... and such?

www.camtramsystem.com is the website. Abel Cinetech is the exclusive distributor .

I've used it a couple of times- it rocks ! I've used a ladder, but I prefer thick gage plumbing pipe- no seams and very smooth. A 2x4 frame is also nice.

It's a brilliant system, and makes camera moves much more feasible on shoots where a smaller budget might dictate otherwise. It's still nice to have a grip, but I did a shoot a month ago without one, and we knocked out dolly shots til the cows came home.

Highly reccommended kit.

It would work fine on PVC but I do like to use a bigger gage PVC. I just love it beacuse you can set it up any where. I have also used it on a vertical track. Call Abel they gave me a hell of a deal on one allot lower then what they list them at. The Car rig is allot bigger but for the shots we needed we just used the peaces that We got it from
www.filmtools.com It is their meduim kit and comes with more then enough peaces.

Is it me, or is there always some cool new piece of gear that'll set you back another $3-5k? I love both of these rigs! Thou shalt not covet... thou shalt not covet... thou shalt not covet...

well the trick is you can get the new gear but you have to get jobs and sale them on paying you for using that gear. So know when I bid a Job I always mention that I have these allot of times I even send a link to their we site. And most times they want you to bring it just beacuse it looks cool. So I get paid more for basicly doing the same shoot and I get to play with my gear. So It works out over time

It will work as big a camera as your tripod head can hold. I have used a Sony Cinalt on it loaded to the gills. But you just have to have a big tripod head and a track that is strong enought to hold it.

As for big man big rig, You know us big men like our tools to fit us so we tend to over due it from time to time
