HVX and G35 for health insurance DVD

That's beautiful, man! Loved the girl doing some yoga shots! I like how this Extreme short DOF can make the images so dreamlike!

The shot of the woman on her powerbook was also excellent. How did you get all that range in there? Did you shoot it late afternoon? Did you put some lights out the window? It was very natural, very well done!

I'd say great work, and your costumers will be deeply satisfied!

Nicely done. Looks great. Well conceived and strong execution. I like your composition and using the ramp to white was a nice "no really it's film" touch. What glass were you shooting? Thanks for posting.

-filmstox.

That looks really good. Aside from that, the shots were well composed. Looks like a commercial I should be seeing on television soon.

very nice. the shots were all really well done... the only thing that kind of bothered me was the text, it seemed a little out of place.. the motion graphics were good though

On the powerbook shoot, I had two caselite4s inside to light up the interior.

Nikon primes were 85mm 1.8 and 50mm 1.8 also had a Sigma 20mm 1.8.

I agree. I'm still playing with some different ways to implement the text without it looking like it was just thrown in on top. I'm also not fond of the old-folks section... that shoot was a total bust. oh well.

God damn that looks f*cking good - I hate those bastards over at G35, they make this outstanding product yet I still can't buy it

I take that back, I love those bastards for taking their time to develop something really spectacular like the G35, there is no other adapter that compares to the look that thing acchieves,

hopefully the redesign will come by the summer and will remain moderatley priced

I'm still holding out on you Jonathan!!! let me make you a rich man, release your adapter!!

The G35 seems to add something (besides the DOF) that I don't see with other adapters... I can't really put my finger on it. With this footage, along with some of the demo stuff on the g35 site, I have yet to see other adapters create such a pleasing image.

Finally got to go home and see it on CRT from DVI out...

Me almost pee peed on meself.

You guys have to view these HVX clips on a CRT. They look so much better.

So what is the deal with the static G35 used in HD? Jonathan said the static adapater wouldn't work for HD because the grain would be seen too much. Does grain stick out in the full res files? Because I don't see a spec of grain anywhere on this clip.

Yeah basically. You can see the grain in HD. It disappears when I down convert to SD though.

G35 is money. The screen and the optics definitely have some MOJO going on.

Elrosten,

Hey, this is a really nice looking spot. Your compositions are really strong and the equipment obviously compliments your talent. Did you do a considerable scene-by-scene CC on this piece, and with what utility?

I see you're from Redding. I spent a really nice year there when I was about 10 years old. Can't remember the elementary school I went to - maybe Manzanita? It was small.

Thanks Overland.

Yes I did do some CC. The different Nikon lenses I use all have a different color cast to them. I OFTEN forget to re-white balance when I switch lenses... so that's were CC comes in. I used the 3-wheel CC filter in FCP.

Yeah Manzanita school, small. Just like everthing here :) Actually, Redding has grown a lot lately. Great place to visit ;)
