Letus35 Adapter (35mm Adapter for DVX100)

I'm selling my Letus35 Adapter for $260 (inc. shipping), which has only been used to shoot our our last short film (PANDORA - http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=46501).

This is the same all black adapter with metal switchable Canon FD/Nikon AI mount & improved GG as you'd buy for $520 or even $375, if you were getting the Handyman Kit (http://www.letus35.com/handy.html) ... BTW, this was not the Handyman Kit that was purchased ... was purchased fully assembled & cleaned.

It's also the same adapter that Jack Daniel Stanley used on his camera for ODD SQUAD, which he placed 2nd in the festival with. I can forward camera settings that other users have found to be ideal in pulling the best images from this adapter, to whoever purchases it.

Paypal only please, and I can have it shipped out the following day via USPS Priority. Need to sell it ASAP as I'm acquiring the new Letus35Flip Enhanced, and won't have a use for this one anymore.

PM me if interested, or if you've got any Q's.

Figures you'd put it up for sale when I am desperately trying to find money just to finish my Hero Fest entry.... couldn't wait and sell it when I'm in between projects and might have a buck or two, huh?

Seriously though, what lens(es) did you use with it?

Hi Larry, got your PM as well, and will read/respond later ... just buried right now & need to rush out to shoot pics of our final location I think we secured (all four just secured in the last day or two, with only three days before we film!).

I've used both Nikon AI mount lenses and Canon FD mount lenses. I currently own a Canon 50mm 1.4 FD, a Canon 100-300mm 5.6 FD, and a Nikon 100mm 2.8 AI. All work perfectly well with it, and the mount engages the lenses iris as well, so you can manually adjust the stop on the lens.

Sorry for the timing! I just wish now that I'd listed it for even more money (i.e. $300+), since I've been hammered with PM's today on this! :)

Hmmm, bidding war?

I guess if I underbid and ask for a lengthy lay-a-way or creative financing I'll lose that war?

Good luck selling it and thanks for the details on the lenses. I wasn't sure what to even look for in lenses, now I have somewhere to start.

Good luck on your locations, still trying to find mine :crybaby:

Let the bidding war begin....do I hear $500?

Okay, now I feel badly and things have gotten kind of complicated. I was kind of kidding, but of course the commerce side of me wasn't. (oops) I actually rec'd a higher offer than the $260, though it was after someone else has shown interest .... someone I really respect.

So, thanks for the interest everyone, and now I've just got to decide what to do with those who've already PM'd me. Please, for anyone else, the "bidding" is closed.

Aiyee, me & my big mouth about that bidding war!

Was that comment in reference to the person you respect, or were you really trying to say you don't respect the rest of us?

Sorry for stirring the people up into a bidding frenzy....jeesh people, you're like a school of pirranah's. All it takes is a little fresh meat and you go nuts!!

LOL! I respect nearly everyone on here ... just meant to say he's a cool cat. Thanks for always trying to twist it, Larry! :)

No problem, FOX News is the "No Spin Zone"....so I figured we should try to make this the "Spin Zone"

I'm curious about your experience with the adapter. Did the extra length of an adapter and additional lens change the balance of the camera? Was it still comfortable for handheld work? How difficult was it to focus by reaching out to the additional lens, rather than the focus ring or the Auto Focus of the DvX itselt?

I know the end result is worth the adapter, I'm just curious how much more difficult it is while using the adapter.

Thanks,
Larry

Oh yes, very much so ... it doesn't take much.

Total handheld is fine, but trying to muscle a steady stick with just one arm proves to be MUCH more of a challenge ... especially because you've got rails added as well (I'd always suggest this with a 35adapter & lens ... just so you can be prepared to have longer lenses on, if desired, in the future.

Not very.

Well worth it.
