What's in the Box ? U.S. vs Canada

i think there is alot of misinformation floating around here..

if you buy a dvx from calgary and it has a book and dvd in it.. its grey market.. that camera is coming from the states.
 
Ya, as Barry himself said - He has not sold a single book to Panasonic Canada.

Vistek is running bad info on the site or bringing in grey market. They are supposed to be authorized so I can't see them using grey market. I would just call them to be sure.
 
Hey guys,

Called Vistek and checked.

I spoke with one of their sales reps, Richard, at about 1345 hours today, Saturday, December 31, and apparently they won't have the 100B in until the middle of January and as such he didn't know if the book, dvd and software was included.

That's unfortunate, if true, regarding the book, dvd and software because they truly sweeten the deal for me and make it possible I'll buy one, if not both cams from the US if not available with the Canadian model. My plan was to sell, at a discount of course, the extra copy of Barry's book, dvd and the Magic Bullet software and recoup some of my costs.

Am I correct in assuming that the software bundled is the same software that has an MSRP of about $350-400 USD when bought on its own?

the Vistek site says it comes with DVX book + Magic Software but i think they just cut and pasted what the us sites "in the box" specs said

Not surprized, everytime I deal with vistek I'm reminded that it is run by people who have no idea what is going on.

It's a real shame we don't get the book and software. Its actually hard to find the book here at all. NONE of the book stores here could even order it.

And as far as the MBE software goes.....man, I want it so badly yet can't bring myself to pay the 400bucks to get something I feel I should have gotten with my DVX.

canada sucks for video stuff in comparison to the states, dvshop seemed the most informed about stuff, i bought my dvx100b through a company in halifax and they told me it didn't come with the 5400 mah battery, yet it did. They also had no clue about tripods when i asked them about some.
