...there was an 80' crane to get teh overhead shot of the labyrinth. Some great perfomances too!

EDIT: Page is updated with a long clip -- no audio as they are doing ADR as we speak. Chcek out the davantage of the small chip and deep deepth of field that allowed up to stack the action in layers.

These look really good, but I have to agree with John, bigger grabs please. And, even better, some footage would be great!

thanks amigos, yeah this monday i should post some clips it really turned out great. I had way too much fun shooting this project (even though besically everything outside meant really really freezing my ass). Still the director was chill and always listened so every day we would finish early and still manage to get as great footage as possible.

Wow, I just watched Between You and Me on your site, what an amazing idea and so perfectly executed. That is one of the coolest short films I have ever seen. Great job.

Patryk I'm learning lighting. You light well. And that lighting scheme is very helpful. Can you explain a little more about the 1.2 or 12k hmi's. Thanks

HMI is a really nice versatle light that comes in various shapes and sizes. The best feature of the light is it's color temperature -- daylight so you don't have to gel the light (thus loosing half its output) moreover the light is really powerful -- 1.2 is equivalent to about 3-4k (don't quote me on the numbers) thungsten, so you can put the light further from the subject and get similar exposure. The bad part is that it comes with a balast which can be a bit unforgiving (magnetic balast is more stable but you can't use it with non-crystal sync geny; electronic balast you can use with a geny but in my experience is more "moody"). Unlike thungsten light that just dims a bit if there are jumps in the power HMIs tend to turne themselves off, so you gotta be more careful about power supply. Also you shouldn't turn the light on and off too often as after you turn it on you gotta wait (about 3-5 mins) for the light to heat up and when you turn it off you gotta wait about 3-5 minutes for the light to cool down or it might not turn on right away.
