Just when you thought this question was answered...

OK straight to the point, i just got my dvx100b, 3 weeks ago, actually i wasn't suppose to, because i was still thinking what hd cam should i get, then i ended up with dvx100b ("in the meantime") ( don't ask...!)

So i'm still interested in hd which will get this summer, my mind was 85% toward the hvx200 but then doing some research i'm starting to lean toward the jvc-hd100, yea yeah i know the "it's not the camera" speech... but please save it ( at least for now)... so suggestion please.

and yes you can consider this another hvx200 vs jvc-100 question,...again.... but the profesionally honest kind...

xcuse my english

Depends what kind of shooting you will be doing. All the footage ive seen from the HD100 has looked moderate to gross at best (way to sharp and stiff) whereas the HVX seems to handle motion and color gamma's much smoother and soothing to the eye. I would opt for the HVX without a doubt.

Consider the form factor, the individual special features, and the workflow issues. They're very different products; one should be noticeably more suitable to your intended usage than the other one is.

if you are filming HD documentaries or events, the HVX is out.

....unless you can buy a kajillion P2 cards or if the cineporter comes out. :0

I am in the same boat. I like everything about the HVX except the p2 cards.

Why doesn’t someone build a hd cam with hot swapable hard drives.

Anyway I shoot documentaries, corporate training, some tv commercials, and produce a local tv show. But, I would like to make a movie.

I want a do all cam. I know I know no such thing I will go back in my hole now.

Remember--Jvc only offers 720i while HVX offers both 720i and 1080i. There is also the Canon to consider..but a bit bulky. My recommendation try to see if your DVXB can do everything you need since you already have it. Possibly get a 35 mini adaptor with a decent lens.
