Yes I'm afraid I have another adaptor.

hmmm, different GG for different effects. cool idea.

How do you make your own though and have it all stick togther...

Edit: In the spirit of the cooperation that this post has been founded on, I am removing my prior comments. Let's all just work together and make our adapters the best we can.

first of all ovjamaica, dont get soo defensive. i, for one, crave to have the depth of field that the 35mm adapteres provide for digi cameras. all Im simply saying with the video he provided with us of the laptop, since it was a closeup, the only depth of field attained was going out and in focus on the keys, which is something the dvx is definately capable of achieve in its macro range.

lol take it easy dude.

Hey Guys
as promised, i am encoding the my ecw35mm beattie screen test right now
i have a problem today. I was so dumb to clean my beattie screen, and now it got fogged up, the solution i used to get the oil from my fingers off the screen reacted together and left gunk on my expensive investment. I spent 3 hours trying to save my beattie, but unfortunaelty i will have to buy another one because they are my favorite to use for the ecw 35.

so never ever touch the screen with your fingers, palms, or blow with your mouth.
i learnt this lesson hard today

so this footage is after i spent 3 hours trying to cleaning that gunk off the screen. so the screen is not 100% at where it is
i also have cracks on the screen from the reaction

anyways

I have vingette agin in this footage and i think i have a answer and maybe you guys can help me

I am using the sony z-1 and not the dvx100 is because
1. i have assess to this camera, even though i have access to the dvx100100a but I am mostly interested in static 35mm on HD cameras. But soon i will be in possesion of a a HVX, as of now the Z-1 is my test machine.

2. The Z-1 is 16x9, and I do know how much of an area does the 35mm lens creates the image. So i am safe to say that veinegtting because of this, ( i am also could be incorrect - enlighten me-).

It could also be that i had not found the correct distance from macro to gg.

Also another reason i am testing on a z-1 is the lcd. It is able to rotate to a point where i can see the screen and the image not upside down. very good for testing.

so this post may seem random, but you guys tell me what you think of the footage

thanks

after encoding, i will putting it up on blip.tv

ok... this might just be completely crazy.. i dont know.. i was just bored today when i conjured up the idea.. but what would happen if there was a shutter going 24fps between the lens and the focus screen? would this create a more film like experience to capture? or would it make the light stop down even more than it already does?
i can pull out a shutter from an old 8mm camera and try it.. but maybe im just being retarded and this wouldnt do anything at all

also.. marlene can u pm me with the exact web url to the co-7.. i think i found it but i just wanna make sure before i throw down.. also.. should i get a co-4 too..... or just any macro +4???

thank god for tax returns and having some guy hit my parked car.. ($880.00) and there is noooo way im gunna fix that little ding.. id rather get some gear and go to hawaii

can you use anything thats transparent for a focus screen, or does it have to be somewhat.. whast the term, frosted? no... otr could you use something thats as clear as a plastic cover from a jewel case?

That's what the Arri D20 does...

hmm.. so then in theory it would work and create more of a film picture...
im gunna try it and see what happens..
an adapter with a shutter as well as vibrating ground glass... might be in a little bit bigger of a package tho..

You might have to set the shutter speed for 1/24 to prevent the electronic shutter from interfering from mechanical one. Also, I'm sure the mechanical shutter is not crystal sync, but that should prove to be interesting as the CCD is. And... do 8mm cameras run at 24fps? I seem to remember them running at 18fps, but I could be wrong, and again, it would prove interesting. And... the shutter is small as it is intended for 8mm, hopefully it will cover the 35mm frame...

That sound like it might provide interesting results, please keep us updated if you try it!

You can't use something that's transparent for a focus screen, clear plastic will not work...the image would just pass through it. You want the image to appear on the screen so the screen has to be somewhat opaque.

if anyone can provide me with some information on super 8's such as shutter speed..and frame size i will definatly give it a try..im not sure... but i think the standard 8 might run slower than 24.. but the super 8 is at 24... but i really have no idea.. i might end up buying an old broken 16mm and use it for parts..as for covering the entire 35 frame.. i dont think it matters.. as the camera right now doesnt even capture the entire 35mm frame.. i think it would capture the 16mm frame perfectly.. 8mm... thats another story.. ill keep my eyes peeled for a 16mm
