how to clean the lens

Okay, I should have had a filter on it but I didn't.
The other day I was doing a couple of quick test shots outside and it was pretty windy. Now I have dust on my lens.
Not a lot, but it looks like it's hanging there and maybe isn't going to just blow off.
I don't want to risk any damage to this lens . . .

Is there a "best way" to deal with this situation?

Air Can? Lens cleaner? I use the stuff that came with my glasses. Little spray bottle of "stuff" and this cloth type thing. I figured it does a good job on glasses so why not? Clean and streak free.

I've always used air in can (compressed air)... being careful not to spray it wrong or too close to the lens or else it will fog it up. That may be a BAD thing to use, I don't know, but it always worked with the DVX.

Use this first:

No luck? Go with a soft microfiber lens cloth (non-metallic). Always moisten the lens even if it's only with your breath. Press lightly on the area affected, work towards the outside of the lens. No luck or stubborn stain material? Pancro cleaner and microfiber cloth.

Tip from the good folk at Century Optics - If you're ever really stuck (and as a last resort) go with Windex and the cloth diluted 10:1.

BTW, an $5 ear syringe from a local drug store is as effective as a $20 hurricane.

I.
