P2 1080i50 import into FC5.0.5 - codec missing?

Using FC 5.0.4 can't import footage shot by HVX200 Pal in 1080i50 - tried all possible setups, keep getting 'incomlete or corrupt files' message, plus FC says 'codec is missing'
PLEASE help if you can! Where can I get this missing codec???

Please! Someone one must know. I have been trying to get to the bottom of this myself.
If it helps i spoke to a guy who uses PAL HVX and FCP and he says he can only capture 1080p not any of the 720 modes including variable framerates.
 
actually FC Pro user guide says from all DVC PRO HD PAL resolutions it can only capture 1080i50, which I tried to do - but as I said, I got a message about 1080i50 codec 'missing'
would really appreciate if someone can help!

I could not import any footage at all from HVX
 
Is your FCP installed on a Powerbook?

When FCP installed on my Powerbook G4 1.25 GHz, it didn't install the DVCPRO HD components. It assumed that it wasn't powerful enough to work with the format.

I did a search on a G5 for 'DVCPRO HD' and copied the files to my Powerbook. 1080i50 then started to work.

Does anyone know if FCP will support pal HVX users shooting at 720p. Surely it would just be a minor plugin required.
 
Yes FC is installed on the PowerBook G4, and I can't find the original installation DVD, as it's been a while since I first installed it. I have uprgaded to 5.0.4 quite recently though, but there are no separate DVCPRO HD components...
Do you know where I can download Final Cut DVCPRO HD codecs?

I am trying to get footage to work on a G5, not a powerbook, its fine on the powerbook with FCP Pro, but its the G5 thats giving me grief. Ive got this similar post on HVX News, i cant understand why no one is helping with this one.
 
I installed something like a driver (that is on a cd on the HVX PAL box) on my old 1ghz 17'pbook and I can "capture now" easily. Sure just 1080i50, sadly not yet 720p.
