Hey gang I am trying to solve a problem I got.

Anyone knows of an instance were the camera DOES record in 24PA but send the wrong info to the editing machine and makes it think it is capturing in 29.97?

Hmmmm... that does sound strange, but the only explanation that I can come up with, is that the "newer" tape's are not shot on 24pa, but on 24P normal. Is your camera functioning properly? Maybe F6 got changed so it's not shooting 24PA?

Have you been over to the "final cut pro" forum on "apple discussions". If you don't have an account over there, I can post the same question for you and see what those guys come up with. There's a wealth of knowledge on FCP over there, and I know they'll know more about it than me. I'm new in the 24P, 24PA world, and still finding my way myself.

Let me know.

i checked everything man....
it says 24PA...it even looks 24PA......
i would appreciate it if you post the question...it is totally weird

well u have to make sure that youre NLE is set up for 24p and not for 29. thats the most common problem with ppl shooting 24 they automaticly think that their NLE will recognize it, it wont. U need to specify it!

yep...know all that. I've been editing 24PA for some time now with FCP with no problems. it just happens that one day it decided to flake out on me. I think I might have found the culprit. I had just installed Quicktime 7 on FCP 4.5 and I hear by other accounts that it is a headache waiting to happen

Depends on the NLE.

Yeah, I knew Vegas was simple and inuitive, but until I started using FCP, I didn't realize how much simpler and more intuitive Vegas is.
