I've done some quick examples of footage for the camera here. (Not for the squemish - SNAKES at feeding time!).

The files are not native and have been compressed using WMV-HD at (43MB) 6mbit for the longer clip and (10MB) 8mbit for the short clip.

The resolution is 1280x720/25p; a hand-held job just to grab a few interesting clips. Editing in PP1.5 using raylight (HD-DVCpro) wrapper.

Enjoy!

ROne,

Are noise noiseless corn snakes or is one a noiseless gopher snake? I'm not up on my PAL snakes.

Phew I don't know. They're a friends. They are only small. But look big on my projector!

Does anyone know why the footage can "pulse" when outputting to WMV-HD?

On the first shot there is a splurge of blocky pixels near the caption. This has happened to me before.

I had to look at that a few times before I could see the little block of pixels near the lower left title in one or two frames. Wonder what that is?

Can I just say that the pure analogue component 720p out of the HVX to my projector does not compare to even a compressed WMV stream like this then delivered via the PC to the projector HDMI. The PC's digital stream looks so much better than the component delivery.

Though I would attribute blame to my projector's not so clean component stage, maybe the analogue output of the HVX is not so hot? Which would explain at lot of the noise debates here.

How I wish the HVX had HDMI/DVI set up.

Since component is an analog signal, the cable quality will be a factor as well. I always keep a $120 dollar 6' component cable for any "mission-critical" video runs I need to make. The difference was striking when I first installed it.
