I do workout, just another reason to stay away from beer, lol

Beer is nasty, not only that, it doesn't even get me drunk!

If I drink, I wanna get drunk, thats the whole point behind it, the whole reason behind it. Anyway, when I drink, its all about vodka, or something else that can actually get me drunk.

That is really the problem with alcohol consumption today. People do not seem to be able to enjoy it in moderation. Sure, everyone gets hammered now and then but I personally enjoy the taste of a fine wine or a good beer (none of that Budmillercoors ****.) Perhaps a good single malt scotch. When I was young, yeah, the whole idea was to get hammered. As I've gotten older, it's been more about quality than quantity. Give me a couple good pints of Guinness and you can keep your case of Budmillercoors. When you slap down $50-100 on a bottle of wine, believe me, you're not guzzling it.

I hate the taste and do it strictly to impair my vision and judgement.

You're still young.

Somebody help! Just opened a 1983 Graham's vintage port and realized I don't have any chocolate OR stilton

Im with you one this one Blaine. For me, getting ‘drunk’ is quite boring - unless im out with Honka at the disco and the Dj is spinning all those wonderful hits.
That said, im just a beer and wine type of guy.. and find it hard to enjoy a meal without a good bottle of wine. had a great nero d avola with dinner tonight and i am comfortable.

erm.. how does a low budget indy film producer afford a 1983 Graham's vintage port?

yep, its the younger generation thing to "drink" and get drunk, maybe when I'm older I'll be able to drink for the taste, quality, and such, but for now, I'll drink to get hammered. :)

Everyone I know has been partying incessantly this past weekend, and I don't really enjoy it. That thing they tell you about, peer pressure, it's a doozie. it's annoying when everyone you talk to wants to get drunk with you.

Back to the topic at hand, Friday.

You guys know how you always complain about how shitty the patrons at movie theaters are, and how annoying the movie going experience is nowadays?

Right, well, that's what I'm subjected to. Only I don't see a movie. Just sell stuff to jackass customers, and occassionally clean up jackass customer's stuff. I don't even like the people I work with.

The only perk of working at a movie theater would seemingly be free movies, but they forget to tell you that they jeopardize any time you'd have to see movies. Blargheth.

I work at a megaplex too. Total crap. I went to a Landmark theater the other day, six screens I believe, and it made me wish I lived closer to there. By the by, Thank You For Smoking was very funny, and smart. I love what others call "libertarian" (?) humor.

If I were to drink, now would be a good night, I suppose. But if I (being underage) drank, i'd totally guilt trip myself into feeling bad about it, because my mom always tells me not to drink.

I drink because I really enjoy the taste of alcohol. All kinds of alcohol. It's fun to go through the Bartender's Bible and see what you can mix. A great site for those of us who enjoy mixology is www.webtender.com

Ah last night was fun..... a cosy little Bar full of Japanese beer, food and women. Plus us - 2 Americans, a brit and me (aussie).

ya fine.. up at 6:30am like most days.. how much of that port did you finish last night?
1 glass plus an extra splash. It lasts longer than regular wine after being opened so I don't have to rush to finish it.
