"AUTO OFF T_REEL LOCK" on screen? And tape heads louder than normal? Help!

Lately I put a new tape in my dvx b and when I pushed record, I got the message "AUTO OFF T_REEL LOCK" in the center of my screen. It took me a while to get rid of the message, but I noticed that the dvx was slower that usual in ejecting the tape. It kind of sat there for a while before it popped out.

Also, I was capturing footage today and the camera was working fine, and then I put that tape back in (the one that gave me the auto off message) and I got the message again, so that made me think that it was something to do with just that tape, so I took that tape out and put another back in that I know hasnt given me any problems, and now the tape drive or heads or whatever are A LOT louder than they normally are. It sounds almost like they are spinning extremely fast or something, I dont know, but they are very very loud, almost like the sound of a blender. Also, they wont play any tapes correctly, but I know the tapes are fine (they play fine on other cameras), and I also havent received the "X" on screen, so I dont think my heads are dirty.

Has anyone experienced this or know how to help? Thanks... I need to get this figured out soon.

Okay, I just stuck a tape in that had 2.5 minutes of footage recorded on the tape, and nothing else after that. I tried to record new footage to that tape and see if that could work. "Record" popped up on my LCD, but it wasnt recording, and the tape drives were spinning EXTREMELY fast. In about 10 seconds or so, "Tape end" popped up on my LCD. That kinda freaked me out, because from what I remember, its not supposed to rewind/fast forward tapes that fast. Wow.

Any ideas???
