I'm about ready to buy the canon zr500 as a cheap deck and I need a defintive answer. Can you capture 24p advanced into FCP with it? What are the settings?
Thanks.

There may not BE a definitive answer that anyone can give.
Almost any MiniDV deck or camcorder will work fine. There are a few (especially camcorders running on the cheap) which can't. But no one has a list, that I'm aware of.
If it works, it works, and the settings will be the same as if capturing from any other camcorder/deck.
