Anyone bought their DVX from NewEgg?

My film group is ready to take the plunge this week on a 100B, and I'm thinking of going with NewEgg. Has anyone bought their DVX from NewEgg? Does it still include the DVX Book/DVD?

Thanks.

Newegg.com doesn't even sell the dvx100b

i buy all my computer stuff from Newegg.. great company, but its kinda like buying a hamburger at a chinese food restaurant.

And by authorized, I mean they are not genuine DVX dealers by panasonic, so no rebates etc.

Hey, i bought my camera from Newegg before they ran out. It came with the Magic bullet software and Book plus the dvd for the book. Now, i ordered from these guys because i have an account with them. Its seems as if the rebate is being processed as per the Panasonic rebate site.

http://www.acbrebate.com/PanasonicRebate/inquiry.aspx

I ordered from newegg, because i called various places, and i had horrible customer service. Although, I did not call EVS. I just wanted to go with a company that i whole heartily trusted, and newegg was the place.

It also looks as if the acbrebate.com online rebate form has been taken down. I applied for my rebate online and the online site says it is processing, which i assume is a good thing.

As far as newegg, i am not sure that they will receive more stock of the camera, since they are still sold out and i purchased mine on the 22nd of march, and they ran out the next day.

I am curious does anybody have a shot of their DVX100b retail box.

I also remember reading that the camera needed to be purchased either from an authorized dealer or U.S. Retail store.

I searched a bit before buying my camera and had a number of people say newegg WAS an authorized dealer. This is the same store i bought my computer from and had had very good luck so i decided to buy from them. (they were also about $200 cheaper than anyone else before rebate). I got my dvx100b a within two days which i was shocked about, simply awesome processing and shipping time. My dvx came with the dvx book and cd and also the magic bullet software. I was told that only authorized dealers included the book and magic bullet with their cameras. I requested my rebate via panasonics website and was informed that a check would be in the mail. I have yet to recieve it but i only recieved my camera about a week ago so i expected a bit of a delay on the rebate. I have just checked the panasonic website again to get an update on my rebate. It lists the status as "check in progress" and says allow 4-6 weeks for delivery. So far i have had nothing but great success with all of my newegg orders.

Please know that any rebate filled out on this site will not go through. All rebates on cameras that have books and Magic Bullets will have to be manual, go to our web page for the DVX and download the PDF.

As far as New Egg, they may be purchasing through a legitimate distribution channel, but you can negotiate for a legitimate camera, with grounds to return if it isn't. It is pretty easy to tell if it is legit. If it comes with the DVX Book and the Magic Bullet, or a piece of paper that tells you how to obtain those, then it is an authorized US product.

Hope this helps,

Jan

Hi.

Oviously you have not read other posts. Online registration has been shut down due to fraud.

Best,

Jan

No i haven't, i've only read this post. Wouldn't panasonic be emailing me to tell me that my rebate will not be processed if that was the case? I'm aware they have changed the way they are handling rebates but are they not going to honor rebates they were already in the process of filing now?

Jan, I remember hearing about the issue with fraud with the rebate. . I filed my rebate on the 27th of march, when the online rebate form was still operational. In addition, the site have given me a process date of 3/29, a confirmation number, and has displayed a check number, so should i assume that i would have to still send in my rebate manualy. i Secondly, newegg only sends packing lists with their shipments, they are not formal invoices. These invoices can be printed out from their site. Would a copy of the newegg packing list, newegg printed invoice, and UPC code suffice for the rebate.

And, for those who are curious, the DVXs from newegg come with the book and software.

Thank you.

I'm about to order my DVX from Newegg later today (watching this thread with vigorous interest!).

Be aware if the price is too good, it could be gray market.

They are not an authorized dealer and so there is no agrement between them and Panaosnic to always sell US product. Make sure that you define the grounds under which you will accept the camera.

Best,

Jan

Actually no a paking list is not an invoice and thus it will not pass the muster. You will need to contact them and have them send you an invoice. If you have a confirmation number you can assume that you are fine.

Actually because you found the rebate site by some other means than clicking through from Panasonic, we don't even know you visited. I have asked that the fraud site be taken down.

If you got a confirmation number to track, that is what you should track, but it should not have given you a tracking number. Those rebates that were in process before will be handled as before, all since will need to be manual.

hope that helps,

Jan

dont fill out that abc rebate.. its kinda like the fake paypal login sites, they will steal your serial number and try and use it themselves.
