Best tape for HD-100

What is the best professional tape of choice for the HD-100? What are most of you using and are happy with.

Opinions will vary, but the "Pro HD" and regular "Pro" JVC tape, as well as the Panasonic 'MQ' tapes have all worked well for me over the past 7 months.
The one time someone accidentaly put a Sony tape in my camera (two days ago) it immediately clogged the heads.

We've been using the above mentioned Panasonic MQ tapes. They are pretty affordable too at around $5.

The JVC ProHD tapes were a little harder to find at the bulk tape places we ordered from.

B&H sells it, I believe its about 10$ a tape

The only tape stock I can suggest is also the only Minidv stock I have used since Panasonic came out with it years ago , is the Professional AV-DVM63MQ Master series.

Is there any problem switching between panasonic and jvc tapes?

Shouldn't be, the problem is between Sony tapes and other brands.

Just wanted to say that I've purchased bulk tape from Pro Tape

Hmm..

I'm thinking about switching to Panasonic tapes. I've been having occasional dropouts using the JVC ProHD 63 at 10-15$ a pop.


I'm using the Panasonic head cleaner only for 5 seconds after I detect a dropout.
I've been getting around one drop out per two JVC tapes.
