What video game has best graphics?

I just recently reinstalled Halflife 2 after it sitting on the shelf since it came out, and there may be other revolutions that have surpassed it, but I don't think ANYONE has gotten near the level of human believability they hit. The character and facial animations, the acting, all still leagues better than anything I've seen since. And honestly that makes a much bigger difference in compelling gameplay than HDR or Far Cry water effects or whatever.
 
Super Mario Bros. had the best graphics eeevvvvveeeer!!

Anyway the PS3 MGS IS *INGAME* I downloaded the live interview, where they ran it (on the dev kits) and they was changing the lighting and cameras DOF as well as doing major live Colour correction/ gamma adjust etc.. then they zoomed into his face to show his wrinkles and hair, damn its all real time physics, and THAT WAS just in devopment stage...


Great graphics ahead ! , I'm truly starting to believe that we can see games that look EXACTLY LIKE LIVE FOOTAGE/FILM no joke, its within another 5-10 years away. Basically imagine this your watching your fav moive , then you get bored, "no I don't want the baddy getting away with it this time", hit a button and now your changing the story because your playing it seemlessly!

Arrg I'm gonna shut up I sound like a PS3 nutter, but can ya blame me? when I had my first computer (the C64) and I opened up the game tape, the package had this wicked artwork of the game, and in my mind I was thinking "yea the games gonna look like that", BOY what a disapointment a couple of 256 colour blocks? shees.... who whoud have thought that I would have to wait around 15 years to see my vision come close to reality :)

Oh please. Sony has yet to even nail down any specs for sure on the system. It's all just theory and hear say at this point. It's so funny how the PS geeks all start the "PS3 rules" crap when the system isn't even locked down--let alone been shown--yet. Reminds me soooo much of the much touted PS2 and it's revolutionary "emotion engine" which just flat out sucked.

Most of the major game programmers and developers have already said that in terms of performance and graphics the 360 and PS3 will be very identitical.

In the end, it doesn't really matter. PS geeks will love it and say its the best even if its not and will be the #1 seller of the 3 systems again--whether or not it is the best system. Sony still has a great hold on the market and will for some time to come. The fact that the PS2 was the weakest of the 3 previous gen consoles and it sold #1 is proof of that trend.

In the end, it comes down to the games. By the time the second gen of PS3 games roll out and take advantage of the system's real power (1st gen games usually always suck and barely scratch the surface of a system's potential) the 360 will be well on its way to its 3rd gen of games.
 
please the xbox should have waited a year. in two years the x box 720 will be coming out. they are trying to stay a head but they will fail. you know half the games on the system are only bad games or the usually most of them are just getting good grades because of the graphics. own an xbox 360 i am not satisfy with the libaray. it pretty plastic looking graphics but thats it. also the fight games are the same just with motion blur ooooooooooh. ps3 will out do this not matter what just like ps 1 and 2 when the xbox came out it was superior i graphics to ps2 but its library sucked. what games were good only on that system halo, halo 2, and ninja gaiden? halo and halo are hollow shelled out games just to make money and be pretty.. thats it.

microsoft sucks.
 
Wow dude... I used to be a PS2 fanboy, and I would totally bash XBox... but then I actually played it, and liked it! Then I went and got an XBox. I have an Xbox now, and only really play Halo 2 and NFL on it now... but, I'd get a 360 if I was going to get a system, strictly for Halo 3.
 
My PS2 died a year after i bought it.
I had sent it in for repair, they charged me 50$ then it came back not working....
So i sent it back, and it came back not working....... again.

I completely hate Sony now.

Vegas can stay though.
 
I bought mine the day it came out. jumped out a car to get in line lol. it still works after like 5 or 6 years.
 
I went through 3 PS2's... haven't had any issues with my Xbox, and I didn't buy it for one game... I have about 10-12 games... Just don't have a lot of time to play it anymore... Forza Motorsport rocks!
 
If you don't like MS or the Xbox it that's cool but I remember when the xbox came out and people were bashing it saying hey it's so heavy. Now i'm sitting there thinking what ? it's a console why are you carrying it around so much. I have a PS2 and a Xbox. I love Metal Gear and Halo. They both are great systems and games. I do a agree graphics isn't everything but it does stand for something. I wouldn't put graphics above raw fun but I would rather play a fun and graphically better game than just a fun game. Now lets squash all this and go play some super mario world which I must say is still better than a lot of games I've played on the newest systems
