Settings in poorly lit nightclub?

Greetings all,

I have just purchased a 100B and have been asked to shoot some footage of a dance class and party in a night club setting with low light. The dancers will be dancing at speeds ranging from a "cha cha" to "lindy hop" and almost all shots will be hand held. As a budding videographer, I am looking for suggestions for settings that may help me produce the best possible footage under these conditions. Thanks alot in advance.

The best advice I can give is try to get to the venue and shoot in the actual lighting conditions that will be used. You can set up, and know whats going to happen, whilst testing which settings give the most appropriate result.

Thanks for your response Ncje. The shoots start Thursday and I may not get an opportunity to test in the club. However, your suggestion did open up another possibility - I'll try to simulate the lighting conditions in my home and use those as a baseline when I get to the club and make adjustments from there.

Keep pushin',
