Computer for HDV Editing?

Those of you with HD-100s: What computers are you editing them on? I'm likely going to get the Premiere 2.0 Production Studio (or whatever the heck it's called). I have two primary computers:
Alienware laptop -- 3.4GHz P4, 2 GB RAM, 256MB video card, dual 100GB drives
Dell XPS desktop --3.2 GHZ P4, 2GB RAM, 128 MB video card, dual 120GB drives. I'll very likely get a RAID for storage/editing. Both are running Windows XP SP2.

Should those specs handle the demands of the HD100? Any feedback is appreciated.

BTW, anyone using DV Rack HD? I have the regular version, and was wondering how well the HD version works.

Thanks for any and all comments!

I have a Dell Dimension 8400 P4 3.0G with 2G of ram and a 256MB nvidia video card. With that, I can't edit straight HDV files. I have to use connect hd and edit the intermediary file. Still works. Still looks great when I'm done.

I use DV rack with the HD pack. And other than an occasional screen glitch, it works well. I haven't tried it since I've done the "A" camera upgrade yet.

You're good to go with either one of those systems, sir. I'd advise looking into Cinform's Aspect HD if you're going to be going with Premier Pro 2 anyway- it's a very good intermediate codec for HDV that will provide you not only with better performance from the timeline than working natively will, but it will also hold up much better through multiple layers of compression/recompression as well. There's a free two-week trial on Cineform's site if you'd like to try before you buy.
