FREE upgade to "A" Version It's official

OK it's off. Let me see if I get a reply. I'm actually stuck in LA traffic going home with really nothing better to do but stare at the Toyota in front of me!!! God bless the laptop and Verizon wireless cards!

Yes, All upgrades go through California. Even our Engineer from the JVC Aurora office in Chicago is out there helping.

I did not have the patience to go through the JVC 1800 automated # s, actually when I finally arrived at what I thought I needed the office was closed Eastern time.
So I have the JVC upgrade form , with mailing address to Cypress CA, ? so i guess that means I cannot send it to NJ !

thanks stephenlnoe. and Jlams
I am imagining this board in a few days being full of HD100 owners taking bets on the due back date of their serviced ! machines.

Stephen is correct. Apparently everyone is out here. You know, if we move the Board off-shore we can take those bets and make some real money here!!! OK, just kidding.

I dropped mine off at Cypress today after the test shoot for the agency! Met Eric Rosenberg, he was a very nice person. JVC people are very polite and were very helpful. I didn't get to see Ken Freed though, he was in training, however we talked on the phone later. Ken has been helping me since last year on questions. Very nice fellow too!

Rather than fast, I want the Camera done right!

It sucks that a two week old camera needs three service fixes, dead pixels, SSE calibration and firmware etc upgrade. The guy at the counter told me that this is HD100 is brand new and why not return it and get a new version at the dealer. I laughed and said because this one works and I know it!

Hi guys, the upgrade is mentioned for the hd100, I presume this automatically includes the hd101? Also, is there anyone in JVC land that may be monitoring this thread, be able to shed light whether this is going to be available for PAL land? Or whether the PAL models need it? We're picking up two hd101's this month and another next month:dankk2: .

Mine's been there since Monday. Still no change in the status. I can't seem to get through to anyone at the CA facility. It's all broken voicemail or working voicemail. I guess everyone's busy fixing cameras. :)

My HD100 went in yesterday ( tuesday ) in person. So if it's 72hr turn around from the day JVC recieves it you'll have it back, that means thursday for me. Or actually that means today doesn't it! Hey where's my camera! :-P

I can be patient unitl tomorrow. :)

I didn't like the way the girl at the counter took it. I had it wrapped in bubble wrap and secure and she had me take it out and she threw it in some cardboard box and marked the camera in "FAIR" condition. When I complained about "FAIR" she said since I wasn't a dealer, that's the status it gets. Wow. A camera with no hours on the tape drive and absolutely no signs of physical use gets marked as "FAIR", I'd love to see what heavily used gets marked. :)

Is there a time constraint on when we can bring our cameras in? I have a gig this weekend and I'm going to bring my cam in next week, probly Monday. Does anybody know if there will be any problems with this?

Well, all I have to say is that Jonathan was right in the earlier post JVC is doing the right thing and the recall thing was a little harsh but as long as they can see that the right thing gets back the right attitude and response toward their product as well as their company, I think we all benefit. JVC Stands to prosper greatly by going above and beyond for their customers I for one want to applaud them and let them know that their continued support and attention toward their customers is greatly appreciated and is leading them in the direction of going to the top of the pack a privilege only Sony, Canon, and Panasonic have enjoyed at times in the past. Now its JVC turn to not only show they have what it takes but also the ability to go where the others dont, total and complete customer service along with a great product. I for one am becoming more and more impressed with this company as time goes by, years ago I would have never gave them a second look. My hats off JVC!

Carcaridon- AWESOME!

Wellll- I took mine in and haven't heard back. I spoke with the people on the phone today east and west and , never heard back from west coast service dept after I was told they would call me back.
