I would drive up there on the 8th but I gotta drive to Virginia on the 9th to go to this studio they have there to learn some more stuff.

Man I applaud your dedication! Maybe not your comeback skills:Drogar-BigGrin(DBG) , but damn you got some drive. And you need it since you seem to be travelling everywhere!

Thanks man I hate failing at things and I see so many good people I feel like i'm playing catchup with them. I don't have any videos of me as a kid making movies because I haven't been doing it that long. I guess that's why I haven't really posted any work I've done yet but I am going to try and enter something for Hero-Fest

You can do it man. Put your mind to it and you will have a film for Herofest. If they can have 24 hour film contests, certainly you can put together something in a few months.

I am also in the learning from the ground up campaign. I just got my camera and have been working on shooting, editing, learning about lighting, how to organize a shoot, how to block shots. The how to's of a lot of basics. And I know if I stayed at this for 10 years I wouldn't have scratched the surface on how complex fillmaking is.

Right now I am slowing my technical knowledge growth and putting more emphasis on the building block of any and every film, the story. I am working on trying to get a great script for Herofest. In the meantime I will help others who are shooting to help out and to see first hand how the production aspect works. Then, when the script is finalized, the production planned, the shots organized and stoyboarded, I will put the production together. Then I will work on the post production portion, hopefully with a composer and possibly a sfx person. I know I will learn TONS over the next few months. And damn I am so freaking excited. I am also planning on leaving my decent paying job by the summer to find an entry level "job" in this industry. So this is a crazy time in my life. but I wouldn't have it any other way.

If you need any help that I can provide, PM me and I'll do what I can. Also, don't feel you need to play catch up. Just be excited at what you are doing and don't feel embarrassed to put up your stuff. You might be surprised how willing people are to help. I am counting on it myself when the time comes.:)

You sound like me. I'm also trying to get everything setup so I can do this fulltime but I'm trying to make sure I make the same amount. I've got that whole wife thing to support. If I was in new york I'm sure we could have definitely collabed on some stuff.

Hey Guys,

Im back! For some of you who dont know me, Im the man behind the soda-can 35 adapter. Anyways, Ive taken a 4 month sabatical away from filmmaking just to earn a paycheck and now Im wanting to get back into the thankless, starving artist way of life. Happy to see old and new faces here again

Hybrid Creations/Ryan will be formally announcing the new date/time shortly. a formal invite will go out this weekend. no need to RSVP this time... word of mouth is working like a charm! of course, you can still sign up for the formal mailing list. we only send important announcements and updates.

chittle@gmail.com

Ryan, Roman and myself have been brainstorming concepts, themes, and agendas to ensure people of all levels get maximum ROI. it's amazing the amount of energy dedicated to this and how fast the community came together. why someone is not shooting a documentary about it (myself included) is crazy!

see some of you this Saturday at the Adam Silver shoot...

p.s. no coyotes allowed... leave 'em in Central Park...

hey guys Barry and Jarred are gunn do and HD bootcamp in NY (around $190 I think) ... they don't know when yet but we should try and schedule the MAY meeting around that, as in if they have any availabilty the day before or after, then they could come ... or we could skip the may meeting (so it wouldn't conflict with the HD bootcamp) and then just get together for drinks aftwards .... or have the may meeting and then get together again for drinks after the HD bootcamp ... unless they come in April then .... blah blah blah

I guess the point is we might want to think about this and keep in communication with them ... whew ....

yeah it woulds suck to be smacking our foreheads again due to lack of communication.

if there's no meeting around then we can just schedule cocktails after your HD camp, of course.

Now, if it works out so you and Barry can come to a meeting, then make sure you get your hat sizes to us in advance, or you'll feel kind of out of place:
