FREE upgade to "A" Version It's official

That is very cool. Canon could learn a lot from JVC, even if their electronics might be slightly better.

Kudos to JVC.

Hi,

Is this a firmware upgrade? or a harware/firmare upgrade?

I just received my camera last week (I sent it for warranty), not sure if they performed any upgrade but they changed a board, calibrated it and reload the firmware on it, it was done in JVC service center in New Jersey. Is there any way to check the firmware version on the camera?

Thanks.
BR,

Gustavo

Wow, that is very cool. I don't have a JVC (I have the Pansonic HVX), but it is really great to see a camera company treating their users like this.

Look on the bottom of the camera Gustavo, it should have an "A" sticker on it.
The upgrade needs to be done in California, so I would doubt that they did it in NJ. They may have sent to CA though...take a look on the bottom.

Free upgrade?

Isn't this merely a bug fix ? It seems it's the least they can do.

Well; props to them for stepping up and taking responsibility.

-

Let's see in the FAQ:

Does the upgrade eliminate the 'SSE' issue? The upgrade does not affect the picture quality performance of the camera (So No apparently?)
-

Still; good to see a company come out and say 'Recall !'

Some bug fix, but....
One of the main reasons is to allow compatibility for the new
DR-HD100U firestore drive. Also they added new features
that monitor battery life with Anton-Bauer Battery systems, with additional menu selections.

Thank god for the Battery issue ! You think they would have realized it was an industry standard ?

Jeez.

I bet this will stoke alot of JVC Users out ! Good news for once.

You could always get the DVX100B. The upgrade will only cost you $3500 after rebate. :)
