How about this one ?

That's one nice phat spliff

You sure that's a cigarette?

Mr. Hudson, how are you working that magic to make those reds pop? What software are you using? I've been trying to figure out a way to turn up specific colors while leaving the others intact - this looks like you're crushing the blacks though

also, the footage looks interlaced on my screens

What in the who and the huh?

I'm using FCP, i think all color correctors are pretty much the same thing - are you just bumping up the mid range reds or what?

No no no

Well, kind of..

It's a 6wcc to start and not just levels (Although I did make levels adjustments as the original was just way too flat)

But mainly it is oversaturating the Red's, Yellow's and Blue (In fact the smoke was Bezier Masked and then graded blue)

Yo rgd. To make the reds pop in FCP with the 3 way color corrector, simply twirl down the little arrow underneath the color wheels. Then click the 'limit effect' check box. You can then select the red that you want to pop with the color picker tool, and you can keep selecting the red (to get all the different shades) if you hit Shift when selecting with the color picker. IF you do it correctly then you should see a little + sign next to the color picker cursor when you are adding to your original selection. NOw hit the little key looking button (underneath the color picker) until you get a black and white screen (this shows your matte). The white area is the selected pixels, the black are unselected. Now go back to the original view and cc the reds the way you want them, add saturation, add more red to the mids, whatever flavor you want to do. If you want to then cc the whole image then throw another 3 way cc filter on there and do what you need to do. Hope this helps

Jeremy
