Bob, your footage is always so good...

you could sell tickets for your demo reel and people'd pay.

Wow Barry! Thanks a million. I really love this camera. This camera has so much going for it, it's hard for some people to see beyond the complaints. My friend also just finished a major network TV show with the HVX and offered nothing but praises. Personally, there's bigger issues with shooting digital than there are specifically with this camera. I shoot a lot of digital photography and there are the same issues with shooting video. You have to undertand your limitations and find a way to work with it.

What were your pedestal settings? What was your procedure
for WB? And by the way js33 is my brother. Folks take a look
at his site as well. He does awesome 3D work.

I believe the default setting is -1 for Pedestal. The WB was set to 5.6K.

Footage looked good, sharp and all. I liked the music too. Nice to see some
footage from the beautiful distillery district. Just wish i could get my hands on an hvx too.
 
I have been comparing Bob's clip to the WMV HD clip from the Panasonic demo about the HVX (Which panasonic said was shot with the VariCam) and even with the Sorenson compression, Bob's footage is just as good as if not better than some of the VariCam footage. And all of Bob's stuff looks like available light??

love the shooting, love the distilery district of TO... i've shot there in the past with the DVX, but let me just say you should sell your footage to the city to promote people coming to visit... i know i feel like i've just been there again after seeing this.
oh btw, pilate is amazing, seen them in concert twice.

So are you comparing compression codec's or cameras?
