Recommendations of affordable field monitor for HD100

Just got my HD 100 and I'm looking for recommendations on a field or studio monitor that won't break the bank. Any monitors and HDTVs that fit the bill?

It really depends on what you mean by affordable and the uses to which you'll be putting your camera. We're in the middle of looking for a flat panel monitor to rival the Trinitrons we've been using for a long, long time. The Trinitron is a CRT that renderes WYSIWYG throughput from the camera. Sony's BVM-D14H5U, BVM-D20F1U, BVM-D24E1WU and BVM-D32E1WU are good but a little pricey. The JVC "D" line is less expensive and just as good if not better. Here's a good link for a discussion of that very topic.

jlames or other JVC folks - have you any thoughts on the new Sony LMD 9050 as a flat screen portable monitor for use with the HD100s?

Our dealer is kindly sending us one up from England to try out - says that the quality will knock us over.... We were waiting for the new Marshall high res 8.4" monitor in April but we will see what this new Sony is like.

Have decided against the HD JVC10" monitor... but the 17" version for the studio looks interesting.

Probably a silly question, but can you convert the HD component out to D-Sub and use a cheap 19" TFT? It should be okay for focus.
