How to set Interval time/One Shot Time?

Does anyone know how to select the Interval & One Shot Time funtions in the Recording Setup Menu? I've read the section in manual that covers this a few times, (pgs 47, 98 & 106), but I can't seem to be able to select the option as it stays blue in the menu. I've tried setting all different shooting modes for the camera, and yet, still nothing. The HVX manual says nothing concerning this, and yet I can't access the funtions. I have the camera set to P2 recording and 720p. What else do I need to do?
The manual is pretty unclear on any other particular setting you may need. But I should just be able to do this in 720/24p mode, right?
Also, is interval recording the method to use to record time-lapse of the sun setting, moon rising, ie longer periods of duration recording?
I would love to get this working, any solutions?

dp,

try setting the camera to video mode in the scene file settings. don't think it will work in film mode. i believe interval will only work in all modes of 60i, 60p and 30p. give it a shot. should work.

In order to do timelapse you need to have your camera set in video mode and use a 30p recording mode either 1080 30p, 720 60p, 720 30p, 720 30pn, the camera will not let you do interval recording in 24p mode. Also make sure you have your camera set on interval and not one shot before you hit record. If it is set to one-shot it will only do one shot and not record the timelapse. In order to stop the camera in interval mode you need to hit stop on your menu buttons. I hope this helps.

I've shot some pretty easy and beatiful timelapse of clouds in the matter of 15-20minutes. You will need a timelapse chart or do some test to figure out how long to record/ at what interval/ and what your show time will be.

good luck
