24P capture on Premiere Pro 1.5

Hey guys, i got my DVX100a as a gift last October of 2005 but didnt have the time to play with it, but when I found this dvxuser forum just this month and after reading every thread, i was really overwhelmed how revolutionary the DVX100 is.
Anyway, I've got a question about capturing. I am a Windows XP Homeuser and using Premiere Pro 1.5 for editing and capturing. I shot the DVX using the F5 setting, so its in 24P mode, since PP 1.5 has a preset for the Panasonic 24P, i used it for capturing, but after I capture the footage, if i see the properties of the captured file in windows explorer, the frame rate is still 29.97

MY question is this: HOw come its 29.97 when I captured it on 24P?

Please help me understand on this one OR maybe there's a setting on the DVX to make it capture 24P on my computer? I dont know....

The DVX shoots 24p, but a pulldown is inserted so the video stream can be displayed properly on an NTSC television. So you shoot 24p with your DVX, you capture that footage, and when you import it into your editing program the pulldown is removed and you have the original 24 frames.

So open Premiere back up, start a 24p project, and import your captured footage. It should be at 23.976.

You shot it in 24p so the best option is to edit in a 60i timeline. When shooting 24pa then use that 24p option in your nle.

24p in 29.97?

24p in 29.97?

We just learned about this in class and all dv is 29.97 frames this cannot be changed so panasonic takes the odd and even fields and arrange them according to a 2:3:3:2 marker set allowing the program to export witout certain fields leaving the project in 24p (23.976).
