I'm a big fan of the LinkPlayer, I even registered www.avellinkplayer.com and was going to become a reseller of the unit, but that never materialized (being able to play DRM protected WMVHD DVDs was a big feature missing from it at the time).

Sorry my friend, WMV-HD will not play on Mac. Maybe you could view it on a PC? I can not make H.264 because of the poor integration of QTPro with XP. Sorry amigo...andyfedak said:Anyone having any luck playing this footage back on a mac? Even though I've got the flip WMV playback component I'm getting an all white screen. Doh! Anyhelp would be appreciated![]()
Sure, I can try that when I get a chance, but having played countless WMVHD DVD+R's on the LinkPlayer, including several originated from our old JVC HD10 and then converted to WMV9 HD in Vegas (up to 9.2Mbps), I see no reason it wouldn't play.stephenlnoe said:Hi Ben,
for grins, can you download the 'filmout' wmv and burn it to a disk and try it in the player? I wonder if it will play. Another interesting point about the player is that it was hooked up to a D-ILA cinema projector here in Chicago last month and played out m2t right to the cinema screen. Wow...
I'll have to re-upload that file. I didn't realize it didn't upload and only 650KB ended up getting uploaded instead of the 175MB. I'll get to it this weekend. Right now I'm on location in KY.Emanuel said:Lakeshore Drive Chicago IL (175MB) and other Chicago link(s) are down?
I'm sure it would too (play I mean). I don't know what's special about the JVC player over the regular Avel. It's hard to say if there is any difference.bcbuie said:Sure, I can try that when I get a chance, but having played countless WMVHD DVD+R's on the LinkPlayer, including several originated from our old JVC HD10 and then converted to WMV9 HD in Vegas (up to 9.2Mbps), I see no reason it wouldn't play.
Yes, it handles M2t files straight from a DVD-R which I also found impressive (19Mbps from a DVD seems impressive to me at least).
It also does well with DivX HD. It's a neat little player. It is also a great way to "preview" your work on a HDTV because you can output your project to M2T and then stream the M2T over the network to the LinkPlayer which would be hooked up to the TV.
