Yeah, no problem. Just give me a little time. I've been waiting for a nice sunny day and the final parts but I do have a mockup Standard here with all the requisite pieces needed that will be in the final release -- same optics, same ground glass -- only difference is the tubing and f-mount.
I'll go out and shoot some stuff this week for the Standard...
Jim, very cool website you got going there. I loved watching that demo footage again, especially for your beta version. Also, I couldn't really tell that it was a GL2. Very nice man, like always, keep us informed!
Logo contest -- what the hell. Even if it can't be printed on the units just yet, it would be nice to have one. I'll think over the prize details and get back to you.
Thanks for the kind remarks. The site needs some work -- there's a spelling/grammatical error there that I missed today, and I need to fill out the rest of the details as things progress.
Jim, is there the possibility of a Go35HD as relay lens (and not just via step ring) to 1/3" CCD cams like Canon XL-H1, JVC HD100 and 1/2" CCD Sony PDW-F330 considering that these ones are interchangeable lens systems?
yea maaaan! nice site Jim! I am definitely want to enter that contest. Any general idea of what you want incorporated into the logo? or do we have full creative freedom?
OK. I know I'd talked about a FAQ by the week's end but I am going out of town to see some relatives on somewhat short notice -- it's a family thing. The FAQ's details are more or less done but I need simple things like a relatively sensitive scale to weigh the unit and then I'll have it up. It's more like next week that I'll get it done.
Juggling the finances today to have the machinist paid and making the parts en masse. Delivery date for the parts is scheduled to be April 10th, so expect units to ship by the 17th.
Someone here has stepped to the plate and volunteered to do the behind the scenes work on a pre-order system, so that should be up in a few days. I'll give him credit when the time comes
The relay lens question -- I'm not entirely sure, to be honest. I'll look into it. I just don't have an XL1 to play with, so I've got no way of knowing just yet. If this means you're volunteering for testing, let me know and I'll get one of the units out to you ASAP.
I'm chomping at the bit over consistency issues with the Pro glass right now and once the preorder system is up and running, and I can demonstrate to investors that there's a market for this device, I will be able to better address these problems. At this stage in the game it all comes down to money being the last major hurdle. Worst case scenario, I'll just have to max a card out and hope for the best ! :nads: (that's what credit companies do to you...)
Must be your computer. I've linked to two separate clips in this thread -- you must have overlooked both.
At any rate, I have some footage coming that is 720x480 full res of the Standard $209 adapter's output. I can't sit back and let twocik have all the fun
It is currently uploading and will be done by about 3:40 NYC time. Unfortunately, I may be out of the house by that point, and won't be able to check the link. I'll be back late tonight and fix it if it's broken.
Be forewarned -- it's a 69mb file; also, I shot this run'n'gun and should have cleaned the elements before leaving the house. There's a noticable bit of crud front and center (you'll see it right away in the cat shot at the opening). Sorry about that.
