Hello,

I'm doing my 1st music video this summer for band Phantasm! I really dig their stuff and I hope you do too...

They helped us out on the "Hunting Camp" soundtrack and we're hanging with them in the studio while they record their first full-length album and will be doing the video for a tune called "Two Left Feet".

Until then, have a look at a behind the scenes web-i-sode, let me know whatcha think:

WMV format

MOV format

And here's a still from the intro:

Thanks,

Looks really good. I like the band's sound. Your shots looked great. I want to see more!

Was it shop in 24p? What did you use for editing?

Hi Gary,

Thanks for checking it out. And glad you liked Phantasm's sound, personally I think they kick lots of azz, I can't wait to do the video! That was part 3, I will post links to 1 & 2 later tonight (as well as fix that still image that disappeared in my first post).

I shot 24pA. Inside the studio is EXTREMELY dark and unfriendly for filming, and I only brought camera and tripod with me, so I opened the iris as far as possible and set the shutter to 1/24 (I believe) which gave it kinda odd motion blurs, but oh well. For the interviews I just moved existing lamps around to try and give me some help. Edited with Adobe Premiere Pro.

Considering you used existing light sources, it looks fantastic.

Oh and I already watched parts 1 and 2. (They weren't terribly difficult to find.) Enjoyed both of those. Hope you don't mind. :)

LOL!

Of course the file name from this part makes it no secret to finding the others, he he...

I'll post more stills and links tonight and maybe by then someone else will watch it too :cheesy:

I really dug the intro material, very cool feeling to it. The music is something else though, not really my taste but with their music being different sounding the range of what kind of video you can do is WIDE OPEN! This should be a fun one John! Make a day trip to film some scenes in NYC for this one dude, I'll get a crew to help shoot! : )

Actually we are checking out some locations tonight with the band. I need a dance club, unless you know one in NYC that'll let me film out there for nothing? Thanks for the offer though man (we do have to work on something one of these times!) and for checking it all out!

Very well shot, John! I liked the levels of light and dark you achieved. It matches their moody songs. The lead singer's vocals kinda grated on my nerves, but I like the music itself a lot.

Can't wait for the video!

Too dark for me. I want to see stuff!
skettalee, thanks for watching!

which one(s) did you watch and which part(s) couldn't you see stuff? The part I posted in my initial post (part 3) you should be able to see everything, if not please let me know. I agree there are segments that are too dark on 1 and 2 (admittedly I wasn't prepared for the dim location) that's why I didn't initially post those b/c part 3 i filmed my 2nd trip to the studio.

anyhow, if you get a chance let me know...

Thanks for watching Unix and solproductions! We started scouting locations for the video last week, the hope is to start production in April/May. I'll try and throw some more stuf up on the forum once we get rolling...
