Who's More Famous Than Jack?

I was a few months out of films school, lucky to be booming a crap action movie called "Expect No Mercy". http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/expect_no_mercy/
Some of Billy Blanks finest work. Some stunt guys do not make it one day , and they asked if I wanted to be an enforcer. I laugh, they are serious. So I am in about half a dozen shots, with a mini fight scene with the man. Sad, oh so sad, but true.

I was an extra in Celtic Pride! I was in the Boston Garden the last day before they knocked it down, and I met Dan Akroyd.
They couldn't fill the stands so they had all sorts of cardboard people in the seats.

hopefully you can also see me as a "featured extra" (ooh ahhh) in the forthcoming Lindsay Lohan epic "Lady Luck". I play a record executive at a party at the hardrock

well, i was an extra in Sleepers back in '96 and saw Barry Levinson, Kevin Bacon, Brad Renfro and a few others. i also know the guy who did a bunch of the voices on A Nightmare Before Christmas. i was in The Music Man with Larry Gatlin, Oklahoma with Anneliese Van der Pol (she's on the Disney Channel) and i've done other ****, but it's not worth talking about. in fact, none of this stuff is worth talking about, most of those actors I mentioned are all washed up, lol!!!

Once, I was referenced in a post made by Justin Kirch who was an extra in sleepers back in '96...

Forget the six degrees of separation... you made direct contact with the man himself, Kevin Bacon.

Ahhh down to my level, listing extra work. I was an extra in Leap Of Faith, in the revival tent scene when Liam Neeson walks in and interupts Steve Martin and tells everyone what Steve's background is. Also in the tent that day was Meatloaf, and about 6-7 feet from me was Debra Winger.

Kevin Bacon is an icon/instutution, mang!

I worked in the Premiere V.I.P. departement (no longer exists) for Sundance for the '97 hm... or '98 festival and I had to interface with all the visiting celebrities, hand them their gift bags and pretend like it was hard to get tickets for them to Gala events, premieres, and after parties so that when I did come through for them they would A) feel like a special celebrity and B) send me bottles of booz and tickets to their premiere parties in exchange.

-Here ya go Daryl (Hana) these were the last to but I was able to get 'em for ya.

-I'll check Brook (Shields) but I don't think there are any tickets left .... ok I found these, but don't tell anyone.

etc.

NONE of the celebs I met were stuck up or rude. I guess they wouldn't have come out to a festival where you sit on public transit in your puffy ski jacket if they didn't like the public anyway.
William H. Macey = coolest conversation.

John Ritter = coolest sweetest man.

Faye Dunaway = most high maintenance. (She would call and request me specifically ..."J. Daniel, The B program short film screening starts at 10:00 and the gym at the hotel doesn't open til 9:00. I just don't think I can get my workout in and get there on time and the B program isn't playing again after today ... would you be a dear and meet ne at the theatre with tickets?) hmmm .... get out of the office for an hour, go get a sport utitlity mercedes from transportation and go drive around in the snow ... "Sure Ms. Dunaway" (After the Festival Faye Dunaway gave me a Zuni Indian bear fetish as a thank you gift, lol - a little turquoise nicknack, which I still have.)

Loarraine Bracco was really cool too, I met her at the theatre with tickets for something - can't remember why, but she was very appreciative and joked around with me like we were regular people at a party.

Matt Lillard = horniest/funniest.

and OMFG I almost forgot the best part!

I have to post this in a new thread -- its too funny, I'll put the link here when done
OMFG, LOL.

link to come.

EDIT : actually just mande a new post incase it wasn't that funny.

ok maybe this doesn't warrant its own thread so I'll just post here ...

So the festival was kicked off with a Gala screening of Sliding Doors (gwyneth paltrow) and I was at the P.V.I.P table and we were supposed to have extra tickets on hand in case Redford or any random celebs showed up.

So Kate Capshaw walks up to the table and needs tickets for her and Stephen Speilberg. Ok no big deal ... wait where were the tickets! Couldn't find them. Now I was wearing a sportcoat that I hadn't worn since the New Year's eve that had just past. So I'm fumbling around in the pockets and I remember ... oh yeah, inner breast pocket.

So ... I reach into the pocket which was kinda deep and fish around for the tickets ... got em ... pull em out and OMFG this CONDOM  goes flying through the air higher than Kate Capshaw's head and lands right on the middle of the table and is just staring at us.

The woman I was working with batted the condom off the table behind us with ninja like reflexes. Luckily Capshaw thoughht it was funny and kind of snorted, and just smiled at me funny. I was dying from embarrasment.

So she heads off and to meet Speilberg right at the theatre door (he'd been lurking somewhere so not to get accosted till he could sit) and I see her hand him the ticket and gesture back over her shoulder at me. He glanced at me and then they both eneterd the theatre laughing,

So the condom (wrapped not used boys) was in there from New Year's Eve and as I said I hadn't worn the jacket since then ... just hung it up, had no idea the condom was in there until it came back to haunt me hehehe!

so apparently you didn't get any ass on New Year's, Jack? lol...just playing man. great story.

I think I did .... but can't remember ... was with a girl that ... well we were sort of each other's standby's in college ... you know, friends with benefits.

I would fly back to Austin to hook up with her on New Years when neither of us was attached. There as always nakedness. Just can't say for certain if that particular piece of equipment came into play on that particular incidnet since we did a lot of stuff. Coulda been an extra too.

So I'm gonna go with a 85% likelihood that I did infact.

not that it matters.

so why did I type all that.

too much information.

LOL!
Thats funny.

"Faye Dunaway gave me a Zuni Indian bear fetish as a thank you gift"
is that anything like an indian bear hug on a rug?

ha

naw, just a little one inch bear statue with a rock tied to its back made out of blue turquoise.

Indian bear hug on a rug would be a much better story
