Check out the guys at www.showcaseinc.com. They just got a shipment with several cameras and most of them aren't spoken for. I bought mine from them and have received excellent service through the years of doing business with them. Good luck.

Good to know. What is the going rate at Showcase?

I got mine on Friday from WH Platts (at I-85 and Jimmy Carter Blvd.) for $5299 Not sure if it was the last one, but I know they have a large number headed their way with no waiting list to speak of.

Well all you Georgia folks don't forget, if you are getting this for an approved production in GA you can get the sales tax refunded. File the appropriate paperwork through the film commission. That's over $300 back.

Good price and within my driving distance. There needs to be an Atlanta HVX group. What do you guys say?:)

I'm for the HVX Group. As for the 5299 price that's really a good price. I went for availability and their great service in the past when I purchased from showcase and like everything in life you can negotiate.

If you call Showcase, talk to Kenny - he will be very competitive on price with other vendors, they do much better pricing than MSRP.

Oh heck yeah, get this sucker wherever you can... and you can't go wrong with Showcase for service here in Atlanta!

Kenny is a good man. I just bought two HVXs from him this weekend. A local Atlanta HVX user's group sounds smart. And thanks for the heads up on the sales tax refund, that's important to know!

Yes Kenny is the man and Mark too. I heard about how you went in and bought the 2 cameras just when they got them in. They tried to sell me another one but I'm not ready yet. By the way I'm in Argentina and will be shooting in a very interesting and scenic place south of Buenos Aires.

I pulled the trigger...

I pulled the trigger...

It arrives tomorrow. As Nickelson said at the oscars, "Woah..."

BTW, the PLATTS price is for customers in GA, SC & NC...they have stores in Atlanta, Charlston & Charlotte. I'm in Asheville (when I'm not in NYC), so I qualify. The out of the area price is more, even without the sales tax figured in.

Looking fwd to sharing footage soon.
