Interval Mode - can this be used for shooting Northern Lights

Hi ... I need to find a way to shoot Northern Lights with the HVX ... this means using a super slow shutter speed, like 2s or 5s ... is there a way to use the interval mode to do this? So far, it seems to me as though this only allows you to shoot a frame and wait a specified amount of time before shooting the next frame ... is it possible to keep the shutter open for this wait time in order to achieve the desired exposure lengths of 2s to 10s?

cheers, beck

beck, I don't think anything like thisi is possible with the HVX. That would require bulb and extended exposures that the HVX or any videocamera just isn't going to get.

Your best bet would be to shoot with a nice digital still and an intervelometer.

I believe the new (and rather more expensive) Sony PDW-F330/350 will allow accumulated exposure of up to 64frames... which means you could have a 2.6s shutter time.
