How in the world do I remove the anti-reflection plate?

I've got an eye glass screwdriver and I'm trying to remove the anti-reflection plate but instead I'm scratching it up and I've possibly already damaged my lense. Seriously, this is retarded. What does it take to unscrew those screws? Some sort of special screwdriver?

And another thing... Even if I remove this thing... How in the world am I going to get my fat fingers in there to screw this thing on? Now I'm totally confused...

If I can't even put a filter on maybe I should just return the camera. :(

Alright guys... Am I seriously retarded? Do I just take the filter and screw it on the front of the DVX without removing anything?

dude.

stop right the **** now lol before you start making your camera in debt of a new lens.

just screw it on, like i have done, and probably everyone else.

What PaPa said!!!!!!!!!

It's impossible to screw on. I can't fit my fingers inside there to screw it on? Seriously, does anyone have pictures? I must be doing something wrong.

Okay... I took off the lens cap... I gently dropped the UV filter in... I screw the filter on - though there's no click or tension or any way to tell if I've screwed it on - I go to put the battery in and CLUNK - the filter falls right out onto the ground.

I probably just wasted $65 on that filter.

So why won't it stay in? Seriously... This is supposed to be retardedly simple. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?!

Gary, do you have a 72mm UV filter? Was this sadomasochistic psychopath that told you to unscrew the plate a salesman by any chance?:furious3: I'm just wondering if you were sold the wrong filter. There are threads on the outside of the plate that you can screw any properly sized (72mm for the DVX) filter into. Also, if it is in fact a 72mm filter, are you removing the sunshade before trying to put this in? Otherwise you'll never be able to screw it.

The front, the black part......it says Leica on the side and there's a screw. Loosen the screw, then turn the entire black sunshade counter-clockwise. It should turn pretty easily and come off. I think we found ourselves the problem.

  I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone, today. I REALLY must be missing something here.
