actually I'm SAG elligible, havn't joined yet - don't have to unless I get a SAG gig again and you can use SAG if you get permission from their regional office 30 prior to shoot.
why are you still wasting your time talking to me? youre better than that. dont you have to call david fincher back or something? NOT JEALOUS!

...Sounds to me like you handled it quite well. And regardless of whether it's "justified" or not, I would've been stewing over Denzel being all high and mighty -- and more power to you if you were just able to brush it off like you said...
you know I have long history of telling the wrong person to fook off at the wrong time, so I have a propensity, a predisposition for that, but this was just so intense and I had a job to do and there were so many departments that could get f'ed up and have to redo things or wait around if I f'ed up. So it was just like I had this job todo and his demeanor was one obstacle that I could easily hurdle. I think the pressure focused me and made me more mellow ... its a mode all of us can go into, like when I was whitewater rafting in my teens and feell into a water fall and found my self standing on the floor of the river in what seemed like regular gravity due to the falls pushing down on me incased in a coffin sized rock crevice. Somehow I didn't panick ... hmmm rock in front of me .... hmmm .... rock behind me .... hmm to my right? no good .... to my left? bingo, I took a step and the current shot me out through the surface

I'm graduating from college this May, and hopefully at least once in my life I even get to set foot on a set like that. Congratulations on that and the SAG card, internet friend.
I wanted to be an actor from the time I was 7 until sometime in undergrad, and then I still liked it but found I dug directing more. So I hadn't even thought about being an actor for years until the film boom hit New Orleans so I started auditioning last march. I said it was like a temp job that i just happened to be classically trained for, but still after the 1st three auditions I didn't get called back for, I laid on the couch depressed for a day and watch comedy central. If I had been 20 when I went on this shoot I might have crapped mysefl because my entire ego and worth would've been defined by getting the gig and then by how it went. It's funny that this would've been my life's dream and something I would've wanted to happen right after college, and it sort of happened by itself, or at least in a very round about way.

Now we'll see if a guy with a few leads in commercials and short films and a couple of lines with Denzel Washington can even get an agent in NYC :cheesy:

W0W.

What a great story. I think all of us wish to share some type of story like that in our lifetime.

Congrats on your SAG card, mang.

Are you going to have time to put together something for Hero_fest? Will be interesting to see what you come up with if you are.

that's a great story!
about the hero-fest...Even though last contest was sci-fest, I felt like your film had a bit of a hero element to it. I bet your hero-fest will kick ass, good luck.

Thats a cool pic Jack, You look like an ATF agent. Actually, when you called me over at Motorcity I thought you were a cop and I was like how the hell does this guy know my name?
j/k
Congrats on the Sag card possiblity. Turn your cell on, I left a message.

How gnarly is that Jack ?

Denzel; the best of the best. You the stud now. Cutting chops with the man from Glory ! Possiblt one f the top 5 working actors today.

Impressive

That was awesome, Jack. Congrats on the gig and hanging in there with Denzel. Next up, stealing scenes from Jack Nicholson.

Very cool story, Jack. Denzel is the man. You should feel proud that you were able to hold your own in a scene with him. That's no small feat. And I think that's very cool of Tony Scott to make you feel comfortable like that. I was already a fan, but now I think I respect him even more.

Hurry up and get more gigs so you can fill us in with more Jack Daniel Stanley's True Hollywood Stories. :)

Yeah Jack -- It's true isn't it. The best thing you can do for yourself as an actor is just get older. Just get older and keep showing up.

Who was the Steadicam operator?

Oh yeah, very cool for the other bits too. And a nice write up. :) I'll definatly have to go see this film when it comes out here (in 2017).

Cool story and congrats on just keeping it together. My respect for Tony Scott goes way up and my respect for top line actors---stays the same. :) If they do yet another sequel to The Mask, I think you may be getting a phone call. Now tell me about the craft services--and don't skip any details.

they were good

food at the hotel bad -- it was like hey lets dump an entire can of lawries seasoning into a perfectly good hamnburger - yech

I can't remember much about the craft services except that had gourmet type stuff. Base camp was 30 minutes from the hotel out on the bayou and then the location was another 10 minutes down the road so for lunch the day I was shooting they brought a table of styrofoam containers to the location and I had chicken parmesan (sp?) the day before I had fettucini with an alfredo type sauce the chef called el diablo, because it was a spicey alfraido. Breakfast was good -- bacon and egg type stuff.

One thing I noticed is they didn't have tables full of crap everywhere like on other shoots I'd been on. Usually theres a table with donuts and chips and crap ... and no breakfast burritos either but I can't complain.

I had my own chair (not personalized) and my own umbrella. It was kinda funny because there was a tent that said "cast" and it was carpeted with astroturf and had a crystal ashtray on a stand the height of the chairs. But that was only for REAL cast, oh no I could not be allowed to sit in there, but neither could I be asked to cop a squat just anywhere like a lowly extra. So ... my own chair and umbrella. What a funny industry. :cheesy:

did Tony Scott direct the mask? huh?
