prefixes?

Did you guys want any prefixes to be set up now so things might be more organized and sort-able moving forward?

I was thinking we could at least break it up into two main categories (gear and use). Maybe down the line, the more commonly discussed drones can also gain specific prefixes.

You could do. If you want it on common manufactures I'd go for something along the lines of:
DJI
3DR/ARDUCOPTER
OPENPILOT

With maybe: OTHER to cover the rest?

I would specify DJI Phantom as well.

It is easily the best know, and probably best selling, multi rotor out there today.

True, the Phantom probably outsells all the other types of multicopters put together.
